Stunts[edit]

As a general rule stunts for the Malazan Book of the Fallen setting should combine two of the very granular stunts listed in Legends of Anglerre or be equivalent to such a combination. See also the notes on p114-6 on creating your own Stunts.

Examples:

  • Lethal Hands: No penalty using Unarmed Combat to defend against Melee Weapons, +2 Stress on an unarmed hit.
  • Daggermaster: +2 Stress with knives, daggers and long-knives, no Supplementary Action penalty to use sheathed knives.
  • Brawn Over Finesse: Use Physicality instead of Unarmed Combat when fighting without weapons, +2 Physicality for lifting capacities (same as Wrestler + Herculean Strength).
  • Historian: +2 to Lore when dealing with history and cultures.
  • Tempered: add 2 Stress boxes to your Health track.
  • Hardened: add 2 Stress boxes to your Composure track.
  • Saturated with Otataral*: Difficulties for targeting you with magic go up by 3, but that includes "friendly" applications like healing. You also naturally heal as per the Bounce Back Stunt.
  • Two-weapon Fighting: +1 to defense with Melee Weapons, whenever you cause at least 1 point of Stress (not counting the weapon bonus), add another point.
  • Master-crafted Weapon: +1 to Melee Weapons and one other special property when using this particular weapon (it's a lesser version of Weapon of Destiny).
  • Cadre Mage: You gain access to the Cadre Mage effects in the universal Trappings list for your Warren(s).
  • High Mage: You gain access to the High Mage effects in the Warren-specific and universal Trapping lists for one Warren.
  • Broadened Warren: You gain access to the simple Warren-specific effects for one other Warren than your main one.
* Must also have a corresponding Aspect dealing with the Otataral contamination.
