Farrad Garstalson was born a Tarshite or Sartarite farmer.  Grew up knowing and loving the land, and clearly gifted in such skills and arts.  He was given a new area to recover from wilderness and prepare for planting, and poured his heart and soul into it.  Clearing bushes, stones etc.  Planting the right fallow plants and herbs that would prepare the soil for growing crops, and it looked to be a plot blessed by Barntar and Ernalda both.  Everyone expected him to dedicate to Barntar and become the local Barntar godi, and be a blessing to the local clans for years to come.
