Mama told Mari to hide, using herself as a sacrifice to distract the Hunt in the hopes that they would leave without lingering overlong. Of course, Mari couldn't bear to leave Mama in the lurch, and she emerged to rescue her benefactor. Between the two of them, they managed to defeat the Hunt; but Mama knew that the young Solar could not stay, and sent Mari on.
