Synthetics

Geth

Geth are a synthetic species who comprise two parts: runtimes and platforms. Runtimes are the actual intelligence or "software", hundreds of programs operating in parallel. Mobile platforms are the temporary, transferable bodies used by the runtimes, or "hardware". Runtimes can transfer to and from platforms at will, assuming they can get a network connection. Most of the time geth runtimes reside in their server hubs, where millions of programs run in communion, not unlike an organic city.


Networking Improvements

Geth share a collective neural network; the more runtimes that are networked together, whether in separate platforms or in one, the more efficient and effective their processing power become. When there are more than three platforms in close proximity, they all gain the following benefits:

  • +1 Initiative and Perception
  • +1 Wits

When there are more than five platforms in close proximity, they all gain the following additional benefits:

  • +1 Intelligence and Resolve
  • +1 Firearms and Interfacing
  • 2 Command points

When there are more than ten platforms in close proximity, they all gain the following additional benefits:

  • +1 Dexterity
  • +1 Shield level
  • 3 additional Command points
  • The Secure Routines Interfacing program runs across the geth network (using the highest Interfacing of the collective as the penalty to hack their network).

When there are more than twenty platforms in close proximity, they all gain the following additional benefits:

  • +1 Intelligence
  • +1 Interfacing
  • +1 Shield level
  • 5 additional Command points


The geth have a number of platforms, which have evolved over time in response to the threats they have faced.


Trooper

The most basic mobile platform is the Trooper.
