| − | Not every samurai of the Matsu clan becomes a berserker. Otan could have done that but he was born at a time where there was "difficulty" between the Akodo and Matsu families. The Clan Champion arranged for several of the younger students to attend the school of the other and a few marriages to help mend rifts and bringing them closer. Otan was one of those and he flourished at his new schools. His forceful personality and ability to tell a decent story made him quite popular even if he was perhaps not the most diplomatic of the graduates.
