==BACKGROUND==

Ray spent his childhood being a pretty normal, if exceptionally bright kid. That changed in Middle School when a school trip went particularly bad.

A trip to study rocks, ends up with the students trying to hide from a super-powered villain in a cave system, ending up in Sub-Terra, and Raymond trying to get people out safely.

All in all the students got home mostly safe, but Ray changed becoming becoming fascinated with super powers and anomalous activity.

Diving into esoteric sciences and occult theory, and he was quick to get a handle on both.

As he continued his schooling and research, he ended up traveling a lot and sometimes crossing paths with less morally stalwart people. He saw a lot of weird things and met a lot of strange people. His confrontation with a Serpent People cult, led to his first contact with the Living Light and the Albright Foundation. Ray enjoyed the increased resources and structure that Albright Institute offered, even if he didn’t find out until later that he was also there to be evaluated to be Dr. Albright’s successor.

Dr. Albright passed the power down formally during the dimensional incursion, and Ray has been acting as Luminary ever since.
