Since we're nearly ready, I just want to get a few general guidelines up (the product of some reflection and discussion on PbPs here):

  • Do feel ready to improvise background details, minor (and sometimes major) NPCs, and setting information. Feel free to suddenly introduce extracts from a book an admiring historian or a bitterly hostile critic wrote on your character, from the minutes of the society inspired by the cult of personality your character has had built up around them, from private correspondence among high-ranking All-Seeing Eye officials watching your character. Feel free to run your own subplots for other PCs. I know a couple of you have played in the A Child Shall Lead Them Dragonblooded PbP, and my own A Bundle of Nerves Abyssals game; this is a similar structure. This will be a very player-driven game. I do have an overarcing plot and a solution to the various mysteries in mind, but it's fluid; it'll change in play as your characters air your theories, make your moves and radically change things.
  • Do let me know if you're not enjoying the game for whatever reason. At a guess, I'd imagine one of the bigger problems we might be facing is the issue of PC prominence. The Dragonblooded are heroic, larger-than-life figures; with the spotlight frantically swivelling between no less than eight of them (plus a dead-but-still-influential team-mate) you might sometimes feel your character is being neglected or overlooked. Don't let this just sap your interest in the PbP; tell me or voice your problem on the OOC thread.
  • Don't worry too much about how often you should post. Everyone has connection issues, job issues, personal issues. The only thing I want is that you be realistic about how much time you can commit, and when you can't, tell me so.
