Also known as the South Forest Village. Lusta is a village situated on the eastern edge of the Southern Forest. It's built on the eastern bank of a small lake that often ices over in the winter. There are a few small clearings just south of the village that are used for festivals and other gatherings. They're each large enough for a small skyship to land.

Lusta is predominately made up of Gnomes though a good number of Humans call it home as well, along with a contingent of Sirens. Given the size difference between humans and the other races, human homes seem to take up about half of the village on the ground, with Gnome burrows taking up the other half.  A good number of siren tree houses can be seen up above the village, and Gnome burrows can extend some distance beneath the ground. There may even be Gnome common areas or an 'under village' that humans don't know about.

Chirie's burrow home acts as an unofficial library for Lusta.

The Awl Inn, previously owned by the Pogell family, was originally a large leatherworking shop. Business slowed down when other shops opened up, so the owner a the time started renting out the extra space to travelers. The Inn business proved much more profitable, so the owners expanded it over the years, and it now boasts rooms for humans, a string of burrow rooms for Gnomes and smaller travelers as well as nests perched off the roof for travelling sirens.

Some argue that Lusta was originally a lumber town, and that Lusta is short for Lumber Station. Indeed, the majority of the humans in town maintain a small but consistent lumber trade in the area. For as long as most of the residents remember, the raising and training of animals has been it's primary trade and export for the village, thanks to the hardworking Gnome population. Most of the local siren families are involved in fishing and communication, ferrying correspondence and small packages throughout the village and to neighboring settlements.

A number of families from the various races support the processing of animal products, such as meat and hide. Leather workers are present as well, but aren't very numerous.

This changed when the local livestock was decimated a few years ago. The Gnomes have been repopulating the animals but it's taken time. With lumber currently the only viable export the village has suffered. This winter in particular seems to have hit it hard.
