Once per scene, you can vanish while in plain sight by spending a fate point, using a smoke pellet or other mysterious technique. This places the Vanished boost on you. While you’re vanished, no one can attack or create an advantage on you until after they’ve succeeded at an overcome roll with Notice to suss out where you went (basically meaning they have to give up an exchange to try). This aspect goes away as soon as you invoke it, or someone makes that overcome roll.

Alkyne started suspecting there was something wrong with Lady Victoria Mollian. Where she previously cheerfully greeted him within the halls of the Palace, always having a kind word for him, she had grown distant in recent days. And he wasn't the only one who noticed the change. She started treating others as if they were inferior to her and gave everyone a cold shoulder. Most thought she was just having a bad week.

One day Alkyne was making his rounds in the halls of the palace when he found the door to Lady Victoria's chambers mysteriously open. He heard inhuman yapping from within and went closer to investigate. There, he found a kitsune preening itself with one of Lady Victoria's luxurious brushes. Another kitsune was in the room speaking to it. They both turned to him. He was caught.

The kitsune impersonating Lady Victoria transformed itself back into disguise while the other one either vanished into thin air or moved some place to hide (Alkyne couldn't tell in the confusion). "Lady Victoria" shouted for the guards, Alkyne was apprehended, charged on some trumped up charges, and he was thrown into a place where no human dared to dwell.

==Phase Two==

Due to a previously good relationship and accord with the Royal Family, when Alkyne was cast out he was allowed his crossbow and blade. He sneaked and fought his way out of the terrible place where no human dare dwell, determined to risk it and return to the Castle to see what the kitsune was up to. 

As he was casing the castle he came across the same hole in the wall and entered it. He found his way back into the halls where he was previously apprehended. He overheard who he believed was the kitsune Lady Victoria imposter talk with a human about having dealt with the nosy naga and thrown him in the dungeons. Alkyne saw a person unjustly imprisoned so he sneaked into the dungeons and met Rassra who (presumably?) told him his story. He broke Rassra out of prison as well as some other prisoners who were unjustly imprisoned or knew too much.

==Phase 3==

Being well-connected with the Royal Family or at least in close proximity to them, the rumors also spread to Alkyne. He heard Fenrin (in the guise of Lady Victoria) talk about apprehending Illeana and throwing her in the dungeon or worse, so became determined to try to get to Illeana first. There was a place Illeana could go to learn to control her powers, and he thought that was a better option than what Lady Victoria had planned. He investigated to try to determine where Illeana could be found and learned she was in Basarab manor. But he was too late.
