Primlacross is played with four teams, 13 players on each team. One acts as goalkeeper, three as Guardians, and nine as runners. Goalkeepers fly on brooms and guard a three foot hoop levitating over the end of their quarter of the circular field. Guardians also fly on brooms and are responsible for intercepting the elemental balls and returning them to their runner teammates. Guardians are not permitted to attempt goals. If they make a goal the point goes to the other team whose ball it is as if that team had made the shot.

Shooting your own ball through any of the other team's hoops is worth ten points.
