History

When Haruka was 10, her family was nearly killed in a car accident while she was away at a friend's house. They all survived, but the experience left Haruka with an intense fear of being left alone. She started devoting most of her life to spending time with her friends and family, often ignoring her academic responsibilities as a result. After some pressure from her parents to study more, she managed to make it into high school, though with merely average scores compared to the other students. So far, she's made it through with a modicum of skill, but she's recently started to fall back into old habits...

Personality

Haruka is a very social type, always showing up with a smile on her face. She's currently part of her school's naginata club, where she takes an active role in training the less-experienced members, and is always one of the first to volunteer to help with school events, whether it be by drawing flyers, performing first aid for the minor injuries occurred during the festival, or one of many other tasks she's helped with over time.

Behind the mask, while she does honestly care about others, she uses her interactions with and aid to them to block out her own fears of being alone. She has trouble admitting it, however, not only because she doesn't want to recognize that her fear exists, but also because doing so would mean conceding that her motives are less than altruistic, and she doesn't want to make people so suspicious of her that they'd refuse her help.

Relationships

NPCs

School

Liked: Ren Aoyagi, another second-year student. Very sweet and feminine-looking (though he'll insist that he's very much a guy), which absolutely enchants Haruka. She kind of wants to go out with him, but hasn't worked up the courage to ask yet.

Disliked: Kiyomi Kujou, the student-council vice-president. Almost every time one of Haruka's ideas for a school festival gets shot down, she's at least partly responsible. Haruka thinks she just needs to let go of herself and actually learn how to have fun.

Teacher: Junichiro Nagata, math teacher. Mostly a very dry personality, but likes to make jokes that most of the class doesn't find funny. Needless to say, Haruka is extremely bored in his class, and tends to goof off during it more often than not.

Family

  • Kazuo Shimada (Age 43, father)
  • Shiori Shimada (Age 41, mother)
  • Kyousuke Shimada (Age 9, brother)

PCs

  • Ayane: "I love hanging around with you and all, but can I pick the movie next time?"
  • Tsukiyama: "Aww, why'd she have to join the kendo club? We could've used her in the naginata club!"
  • Tatsuya: "Poor guy, he has it even worse than I do, actually losing his brother and all...I should really get to know him."
  • Daichi: "How does he stand being by himself all the time? Seems like that'd be sad and boring."
  • Chiharu: "She seems kinda lonely, but I can relate to that. Maybe she'd be a good friend."
  • Himeko: "Hey, I remember you from that one festival! That was AWESOME!"
