* Until recently, April Till believed herself to be a mutant with fire-based powers. In her early teens she discovered her fire controlling abilities and flight and donned a costume to fight crime on the streets of her home, Vancouver. As Firecat, she had a fairly inauspicious career never facing anyone noteworthy until she was 17 when she faced off an evil mage trying to conquer Canada's west coast. While not figuring out her true form, the villain deduced magic as the source of her powers. His attacks against April attempted to strip her of her magic. Partially successful, he damaged the enchantment placed on her to hide her true form. As a result, April can grow almost to her giantess size at will.

Finding her growth powers much more desirable, she gave up her Firecat identity and drew the attention of Department H. She now operates under the name "Lumberjack" using a costume that evokes Paul Bunyan imagery.
