A Party is a team of adventurers which band together for mutual safety and combat effectiveness. Many adventuring parties are, effectively, small mercenary companies. The word used for a party often depends on genre.

Typical party roles are:

  • "Brick"/"Tank" - A character who attracts enemy attention from frailer party members
  • "Scrapper" - a character who inflicts high damage in personal combat
  • "Blaster" - a character who excels at inflicting damage from range
  • "Healer" - a character who protects other party members from harm and heals them when injured.

Other roles exist from party to party, including a "tactician," who controls the field of battle, and a "leader" who directs combat and typically possesses abilities that give extra damage/power to other characters in the party.
