Personality: He was made to be a field medic, which means that he generally spends most of his time either sorting his materials, or healing the wounded. As such, he's generally not seen outside of his medical area too often. Also, no one has ever heard him speak, nor do they even know if he can any more. Nevertheless, people can't stop themselves from seeing him as an old man at heart (hence calling Patch "he"), and most people try and consider him a friend, because it's always good to be friends with the resident medic, especially this near the Mournlands.  He is also one of the resident mad scientists, his favorite device being a temporal projection device-a device that, when used, projects the mind back in time and creates a hologram, allowing them to interact with the past as if truly there, but not to the point where they can actually tamper with the time stream.  Though this may change soon, thanks to the acquisition of the artifact Flesh Warper, which has been purified.

In one of the longer arcing plots, he adopted three daughters-Maya, Aurra, and Yithala.  In that time frame, he has lost each of them once, though Aurra is the only one to stay dead.
