'''Appearance:''' Sachi is an insanely cute black-haired girl of strangely un-identifiable racial origin in a Japanese school uniform.  When she transforms into Princess Okami her hair becomes shining silver, her clothes change into a sort of stylized hunting outfit of white and silver, and she grows wolf ears and a long-furred—almost feathery—tail.

Utari is a slightly oversized, sleek male wolf with dark blue fur shading from lighter at the top to darker on the bottom.  As Star Runner his coat becomes all black and white star shapes appear dappled over his back and shoulders and a four-pointed star appears on his forehead.  (Needless to say he feels silly.)

'''Powers:''' Princess Okami draws most of her powers from wielding the Wolf Star Wand, a length of silver wood which calls down the power of the Wolf Star to perform overly-complex special moves, most requiring their name be called out: "Mother Wolf" (healing, the only one which doesn’t have to be called out), "Strength of the Pack" (dispels fear and despair and boosts performance via confidence), "Wolf Pack Justice" (ghostly wolves surround and restrain the target), and "Wolf Star Strike" (calls a ghost wolf to carry away the evil in her enemies’ souls) a move that only ever seems to work when the target is one hit away from being toast.  In addition she is 10 times more agile and athletic than even peak humans, can run at high speeds, and can absorb ridiculous amounts of damage.  As Sachi she still retains this last ability.

Utari only gains one power transforming into Star Runner: the ability to “run along the Star Road” a kind of flight.  The rest of his powers are natural to him: energy manipulation including stone-shattering howls, belches of plasma, auras of electricity or freezing flame, and can project walls of force.

'''Weaknesses:''' Part of the joke of the show is that Princess Okami’s powers are generally useless and that Star Runner really does all the work.  She’s also your general animé ditz-and-klutz even when she’s got super-agility.

Utari lacks any real obvious weakness of his own, other than the lack of opposable thumbs.  However, his need to protect the princess effectively restrains him.

'''History:''' It has long been tradition in the kingdom of Shamanu that on her 16th birthday the crown princess (there’s ''always'' a crown princess) is granted the power of the Princess Great Star Okami by the mother spirit of the Wolf Star and must go out into the world to battle evil with the help of her trusty Asena wolf companion.

This is the way it happened for princess Sachi Izumi, and she couldn’t have been happier.  Raised in a tragically supportive family she grew up believing in Good and Justice and all that jazz…and completely unaware of her own shortcomings.  Nevertheless the very day she received her powers she dragged her best Asena friend—and bodyguard, the only one willing to put up with her—out of bed and started leaping across rooftops in the royal city.

For what seemed like two years she battled a variety of constallation-themed bad guys, including her arch-nemesis the go-wannabe Taurus, all the while Utari faithfully at her side (and doing all the work).  And meanwhile she still had to go to school and keep everyone from knowing she was Princess Okami.  Then one day she found herself transported to a movie studio in another world where everyone knew everything about her, including her secret identity.  They said they were filming a “live-action version” of her “TV show” and she was brought to life by a strange beam of energy.

But Princess Okami is not phased: Evil is Evil, no matter the universe, and she will continue to battle it despite having no idea how to act around here and needing Utari to do all the actual interpretation.

'''Personality:''' Standard animé ditz who believes in Truth and Justice and Sunshine and instantly crushes on any emo boy she meets or at least any boy she ''thinks'' is emo and has absolutely no understanding of sexual innuendo.  Utari is her standard exasperated, competent sidekick who does all the work and rolls his eyes a lot at how stupid his charge is.
