"Ximes is the religious center of Avergoine, as it is ruled and controlled by Azedarc, the Bishop of Ximes. Some say he's a practitioner of the dark arts, though anyone saying that had better watch themselves. The last who accused him of that were excommunicated and hanged for sacrilege. He is a powerful and dangerous man to cross, so I would leave those notions behind. He does, however, pay quite handsomely for news and stories of the world. What business draws you to Ximes? If it's with the Bishop, tread carefully and make sure it's in hand when you leave. Or is it in the festering swamps beyond..." He spits in disgust at the swamps.

They say that Sephora, chatelaine of Sylaire still inhabits the ruins, though she would have to be more than mortal for that rumor to be true. They also say that no man can resist doing her will.
