===Background===

It was a bitterly cold winter night, the coldest in years, when a newborn baby girl was found abandoned the door of an orphanage, on a day, celebrated thousands of years ago by the pagan Germanic folk as ‘Yuletide’. Although not wrapped against the cold, the infant did not appear to feel the chill temperatures.

Named Roberta Rasmussen, the surname being that of one of the orphanages benefactors, Bobbie grew up in the orphanage until the age of 10. It wasn’t a happy place, not for her, who hated wearing girls clothes, having long hair, and playing with dolls, and loathed the type of domestic duties women were supposed to do, and who was abused as a result. 

It was at the age of 12 that, unexpectedly, Bobbie was abducted. She never found out the reason for this, because as they were transporting her to god knows where, in the middle of nowhere, she escaped, using her powers, powers that she had had hints of going back as far as she could remember.

Somehow, she survived the wildnerness, getting back to civilisation, with her abilities coming to the notice of Rachel Thorne, who stepped in and became her legal guardian
