  • Brought up in a rural keeps village, Ruari was found of the doorstep of a childless couple one winters morning. The poor but honest Cartwright and his wife took the waif in and raised him as their own.

Ruari [as they named him] grew up content and happy and seemed an average child, if a little pinched of feature and wide of eye. He would probably have continued on in his village and become a carter like his Da if fate, in the form of a wandering sorcerer and his bodyguard had not sought help from the carter in fixing their travelling wagon. The three days it took were long enough for the sorcerer Mathseon to realise there was more to the young lad than met the eye.

He negotiated an apprenticeship with the parents and took Ruari on the road, where he learned both the warriors and sorcerous arts with a facility that surprised his new master. The young “Imp”, As he was nicknamed, came into his own in those years…but every year the masters cart would spring a board or throw a wheel in the winter and they would have to seek out Ruaris parents to fix it. Ruari finished his training after seven years and bade his master and bodyguard a fond farewell. Now, as a newly made journeyman, he has begun his wanderjahr, a year and a day of roaming the lands, looking for a place to call his own.

Ruari gave away his warlock powers to save a friends life...but also, to find out more about who he was. He found an affinity for the living world waiting underneath and now roams the land as a forester and student of nature.

Shock of white hair, a few too many canines, colourful clothing. He has now journeyed to the underworld and tasted the blood of an immortal. He also has some vague idea that he might have faerie blood.
