Ruvyana d'Amasku

Ruvyana.jpg Ruvyana is the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter, thirteenth child of her mother, and living in exile for a pact she made with a dybbuk - a dark ancestral spirit. Now Ruvyana walks the far south, her arms, legs, torso and face covered in strips of oiled cloth to hide her visage. Leper's rags. Her matted hair she keeps under a deep hood - pulled forward lest her eyes glint green in a stray beam of light. Her sword - a monstrously large weapon of the sort favored by her people - and the undimmed power of her mind are all that remain to her of what once was.

High Concept: Swordsage of the Northern Wilds

Ruvyana is a dedicated warrior with a certain psychic sensitivity, trained to use her powers in the defense of her homeland and her people.

  • Expert Swordswoman
  • Psionicist
    • Telepathy
    • Empathy
    • Telekinesis

  • Suggested Compel: When the interests of the Northern Wilds conflict with Ruvyana's personal goals
  • Suggested Compel: When a warrior's stature or a psychic's insight might put folk off or make them nervous

Trouble Aspect: Dybbuk Ridden

Ruvyana made a blood pact with a Dybbuk, whose rotting spirit now dwells within her, living off of her, consuming her - empowering her. Because of its presence within her flesh, Ruvyana's eyes glint with a shimmering green sheen, like a wild beast's will in the dark, and her flesh has the blackened and damaged aspect of advanced Leprosy.

  • Suggested Invoke - Ruvyana becomes even more hideous and a great stench arises from her flesh
  • Suggested Compel - Dybbuk actually takes over. Ruvyana has no control (though in this case brahnamin would have a blast RPing that level of batshit).
  • Suggested Compel - Dybbuk flees for a time, leaving Ruvyana drained and unable to effectively act.

Aspect: Plague Swarm

Ruvyana (and all her gear) can instantly take the form of a swarm of either beetles, rats, or ravens. The swarm can fit in an area 1/4 of her natural human size or expand to fill an area up to 40 cubic feet. Ruvyana uses the bodies and senses of all creatures in the swarm but still thinks with one mind.

  • Suggested Compel: She is forced to swarm and reveal herself
  • Suggested Compel: She is unable to immediately regain human form after swarming
  • Suggested Compel: Ruvyana is prone to scatter and flee when taken by surprise

Aspect: A Dance of Bone and Iron

Ruvyana throws herself into battle with a berserker's abandon and an intensity of focus that blocks all other considerations from her mind. There is steel. There is movement. There is blood.

  • Suggested Compel: When battle and bloodlust blind her to something important
  • Suggested Compel: When she is too caught up to understand a foe is trying to surrender
  • Suggested Compel: Ruvyana is quick to fight and will often do so before assessing the situation

Aspect: Through Monstrous Eyes

Because of her psionic power, Ruvyana can tap into the mind of the Dybbuk that rides her and use its senses. She can see 360 degrees in every direction regardless of whether her natural eyes are open or closed or her head is covered or there is any light source present.

But it is not physical sight. She sees directly into the spirit realm, and with this vision can only see spirits and the spiritual analog of physical things.

  • Suggested Compel: When being able to see in every direction might be damaging or disorienting
  • Suggested Compel: She is forced to see horrors that should not be seen
  • Suggested Compel: Ruvyana is prone to look at thing from the perspective of the dead thing inside of her rather than the perspective of a living woman.

Stunts

  • Leper, Outcast, Unclean - Because Ruvyana appears to be plagued with a dreaded disease, she gets a +2 when she Cleverly creates Advantages over someone preoccupied with her apparent malady.
  • Bleed For Me - Because she is an outlander from the far north with a fighting style many are unfamiliar with in the south, Ruvyana gets a +2 the first time she Cleverly Attacks or Defends against a southerner in combat (can only be used once per battle).
  • Also, I Can Kill You With My Brain - Because Ruvyana can reach into the minds of men, once per session she can make one person her earnest and ready servant for the duration of the scene. (Cannot be a Major/Named NPC or another PC).
