:: '''ISSUE RECAP''':

::: '''''Encounter 1 - Skull-Skull! '''''

::: During the slaughter at the Caves of Chaos, these Kobold fiends continued to play... When our heroes entered their playroom they attacked with ferocity! [2 Kobold Sligners 200xp, 4 Kobold Minions 100xp, 2 Gurad Drakes 250xp, 4 Giant Rats 100xp, Kobold Wyrmpriest 150xp. TOTAL: 800xp/3 = 266xp each]

::: '''''Encounter 2 - 5 Heads 1 Answer '''''

::: Finding their way out of the Skull-Skull game pit, our heroes found a secret door leading into a portal to converse with Tiamat - granting them chance of boon or bust with this riddle...

:::: ''Concealed and shielded behind much, difficult to spot.
I am like bug and sickness; I am contagious not always wanted,
Though I am small, they fear me greatly, for I might leave them haunted.
At times I am tough to keep, my master forced to let me free,
Then I rupture and soar around and they converse regarding me.
I may be friend or foe, servant or teacher,
I am like a bird; I want to be free creature.
What am I?'' [Skill Challenge Level 3; Complexity 1: 150. TOTAL: 150/3 = 50xp each]

::: '''''Encounter 3 - Rat-Wranglin' '''''

::: Following the Rat-Herder Kobold who ran from the Skull-Skull encounter, out heroes find his cages of giant and dire rats and bats. Here Imnar chose one dire rat to take as a pet and potential mount in the future. The others were let loose to foul any traps on the way out of the dungeon... [xp part of encounter 1]

::: '''''Encounter 4 - Set in Stone, Statue Room'''''

::: Before leaving the Caves of the Unknown, our heroes had to pass through this opening chamber with a massive 25' ancient statue of Orcus, flanked on all sides and above by heads of Tiamat. The Orcus statue seemed to be some sort of distraction with it's sparkling gem eyes... and not only would it attack any who stepped onto this room's pressure plates, but so too would the dragon heads spewing different Tiamat breaths! Luckily and unknowingly Minsore walked unmolested through this chamber - evil allows evil to pass!! [Trap of Warding, Level 7: 300xp. TOTAL: 300/3 = 100xp each]

::: '''''Encounter 5 - I One-Eye '''''

::: Moving down the hills toward the river, our heroes encountered a massive giant-born man... a Cyclops with orc prisoners in tow. One orc came out alive in this daring rescue. [Orge, adjusted with Cyclops abilities. TOTAL: 350/2 = 175xp each]

::: '''''Encounter 6 - ORCUS (still) IS!'''''

::: Along the King's Road, in the thundering rain our heroes watched a pilrimage move by but stopped to converse when Imnar saw the banners to be of his faith. Sadly, they were not - these "pilgrims" were mascarading to hide their true nature as acolytes of Orcus headed for the Keep on the Shadowfell! [ 1 Vampire Fleshripper 50xp, 3 Human Lackies 225xp, 10 Decrypt Skeletons 250xp, 1 Blazing Skeleton: 300. TOTAL: 825/2 = 412xp each]

Total XP for this session: 1003xp each)

::: '''''Encounter 1 - Zombies Rising '''''
+
::: '''''Encounter 1 - ??? '''''
::: As our heroes climb the stair from the Temple Torture Chamber, the sound of "ORCUS IS!!" still rings in the air... yet now another sound chimes as a deep bell tolls. Beyond the hall they spy from beneath the stone tile temple hall floors undead in acolyte robes crawl out of their hidden places. Though they seem to ignore our heroes one "intelligent-watcher" undead acolyte directs gravehounds to take car of this minor challenge as the horde moves up into the upper temple. The battle with the zombiefied dogs is fierce and as our heroes triumph they see Sister Jadescale rise as one of them - having been torn from the mortal coil by the dog-beasts she rises as a minion of Orcus... a Rotwing Zombie! [2 Zombie Rotters: 76xp, 1 Decrepit Skeleton: 25xp, 4 Gravehounds: 600xp, Rotwing Zombie: 175]
+
::: ???
::: '''''Encounter 2 - Blade Drop ''''' (Pendulum Trap)

::: Barely escaping the zombie horde, the gravehounds and their former companion Jadescale - our heroes advance but watch as the watcher-zombie closes the temple door. Suspecting the door to be trapped Imnar slowly checks the area, not knowing he'd already stepped into the pressure plates that with one more step would activate swinging blades some 15 feet infront of the dungeon door! Leaping from the trap blood spattered as the goblin fell to the stairs in pain. But with cunning defeats the trap by lodging wooden pews, tables and benches into the pendulums to disarm and break the trap down... circumventing the deathtrap! [Pendulum Trap: 175xp]

::: '''''Encounter 3 - Betwixt the Undead Horde ''''' (Skill Challenge)

::: Seeing the light of day, our heroes cautiously move to try to escape but between sweet success and their position are 20-50-100(??!!) undead acolytes! Blocking the temple entrance the priests of Orcus engage in defense of their temple with "Those Pink Bastards" - the Ironshod Company just outside. But with cunning and stealth the three monsters don temple robes and work their way through the horde - not knowing that the robes they wore would completely mask them from detection(!)... Once on the opposite side of the horde (and spying the Tiefling Rogue of the Ironshod rushing into the temple above in the beam rafters) our heroes make their way to the collapsed caverns for which Minsore recognized as having reentered the Caves of Chaos just following the Slaughter only a few days ago - the portal that lead out through the "Caves of the Unknown" (aka. "Bargle's Caverns")! [Zombie/Escape skill challenge: 375]

::: True to his word - the "late" magic-user, told Minsore and Imnar that beyond the Guest Chambers was the torture gallery. Although it was unusually quiet (due to the rally of the Orcus Acolytes nearer the temple entrance) beneath the dungeon tiles lay ambush! In the blood and gore catcher below an iron maden lurked some sort of orche jelly beast! Splitting to become multiple opponents - the creature gave the monsters a surprise fight... but the two heroes made quick work and returned to their quest for escape.
