Savage X-COM: Area 51 Dramatis Personae
X-COM Staff[edit]
- Colonel Connor 'Slingshot' Carpenter: The head of X-COM's Area 51 base, Colonel Carpenter is responsible for directing military and base operations. Former US military, he's a contemporary of John Bradford and a veteran of America's special forces operations; Colonel Carpenter was handpicked by Bradford to run the base responsible for defending North America.
- Lieutenant Elsa 'Ice Queen' Friedeberg: A member of the German KSK, Elsa is the commanding officer of Shatter Squad, the other Sword team present at Area 51. Tall and lanky, with a runner's build and muscle's filling out her frame; she's an experienced soldier and a veteran special forces operative. She's a regular fixture at poker night, where her enthusiasm for the game outstrips her skill. She picked up her callsign in X-COM from a certain movie.
- Dr Élisabeth Chevotet: A French resarch scientist and associate of Dr Vahlen. When Vahlen was tagged for overall head of research at X-COM, she brought her old friend along. She's being put in charge of R&D at Area 51. She's had experience working with military operations in a research role before; particularly in field work, which she greatly values.
- Dr Norman Johnson: X-COM's head psychologist, formally an adviser to American President who helped convince the UN nations to authorize the X-COM project. He and his staff look after the mental issues that might arise from a sustained conflict with aliens. While he advises the chief staff of X-COM, his main office is in Area 51, as part of the Continuity Protocol.
- Dr Nakima: A surgeon from the nation of Chad, Dr Nakima is the head of the medical staff at Area 51, responsible for patching up the various teams after they get shot at.
- Deacon 'Big Sky' Clarke: The first of two Skyranger pilots serving at Area 51. A Canadian pilot noted for a calm, methodical and safe approach to operations.
- Elvira 'Firebrand' Shchusev: The second of the two Skyranger pilots at Area 51, Firebrand is a Molodvian pilot. She's a bit of a hot head who favors fast, aggressive insertions.
- Agent Virginia Bryan: A former CIA agent, Virginia Bryan is the lead X-INT operative working out of Area 51, leading a small team of agents and analysts. She's often found deep in discussion with Colonel Carpenter about force allocations, they've a professional relationship from before X-COM.
American Military[edit]
- General Eric Smith: Brigadier General Eric Smith was the commanding officer of Area 51; a classified American military base and aerospace test facility; prior to half the facility and its air fields being allocated for the use of X-COM. He remains the commander of the American contingent on base, and the classified labs. Needless to say, he has a strong dislike of X-COM taking over half his base, and enforces the division harshly.
