Despite being born into relative wealth, Melliora's early years were a time of misery and isolation. After being found capable of manifesting warp powers at a young age, Melli was quietly sequestered away to serve as a useful tool later in life - the Rhavel family's dirty little secret. For a time, she was little more than a child in captivity, trained to use (and more importantly, subdue) her powers, though in time she began to detect the fear with which she was treated. A reverence, in a way, that to her lonely mind set her apart from her family. from humanity itself. There are few things more torturous than a white, featureless room - a cell intended to subdue her creativity, yet this instead served to inspire it. Lacking the creative outlet many find necessary for growth, she turned her powers inward, learning soon to shape her flesh as if it were clay, and thus established the rules of her first game; to shock and disturb those she was set apart from. It granted her a new power, born of an identity claimed by her own hand. If she was a monster, if she was set apart from these other creatures, why did she look like them? The horrible visions her twisted mind conjured seemed a more appropriate analogue to her treatment, and so she played at that theme for a time, noting well the concern that grew in the eyes of those who were called her caretakers, until she saw reflected in these transformations more than a game, but a way of life.

Adopting a form more permanent than the others, comprised of a blend of humanity and mutation that both intrigued and disgusted her keepers, in her later teen years, Melliora began to become more trouble than she was worth - a thing that grew more clear when the truth of her warped mind was fully uncovered after an outburst demanded closer inspection. Explaining away the sudden disappearance of a notable member of the Rhavel family was a difficult prospect, and threatened to invite many an unwelcome investigation - and thus was Melliora made rid of, sold away for experimentation, slavery, parts...it didn't really matter, did it?
