The main story

We have a mission, to find the soulsteel key, one of the five keys that unlock the power of the slain God of Locks, and which is rumoured to be in the city of Sijan

Hearing rumours of unnaturally success grave-robbers, the group of Exalted track them down; the group is led by the God-blooded Ragara Orthras. They come to an agreement, to let him and his “kin” go, (and return the grave-goods to their ghostly owners) in exchange for equal compensation in jade and aid at a future time.

Orthras suggests that the key is likely in the tombs of the Realm’s noble houses, something which is born out by Andea’s use of a mystical artifact, which leads her as far as the tomb of the recently slain Tepet Ejava.

Grim gets the agreement of the ghostly Cascading Moonlight to allow the exalted into the area, on the premise that Valek wants to pay his respects to his kindred, including the recently slain Tepet Ejava, the Roseblack.

Valek conducts the requisite rituals, upon which the general appears, and entrusts him with Parabellum, her signature weapon and artifact, marking him as her successor

Meanwhile, Andea has spotted ominous foot black footprints leading away from the Roseblack’s tomb and to a wall, no doubt the footprints of the thief.

Other threads

1. Vilar discovers that there is a person-shaped hole in the Tapestry that the Pattern-Spiders can’t resolve: Cold Iron Heart -- the head of the Funerists branch of the Morticians' Order -- hasn't been seen or heard from in three days. He was last known to be conducting a lavish funeral for a member of House Cynis, who was to be interred in the dynasty mausoleum located near the center of the Plains of the Dead.

Note we’re there now, maybe we can check it out soon). Could he have been a witness to the theft. Or maybe he is the thief?

2. The existence of the Drained, folks who have learned how to smoke ghost flowers through a special long-stemmed bone pipe instead of drinking them in a tea like normal. This creates a powerful numbing calm while simultaneously causing those affected to have luminous skin and eyes, and to become partially ghostly themselves; even more so than the tea allows. In addition, their vision constantly switches between Creation and the Underworld, making them unable to distinguish what is real and what is not.

Note sure how to use this. Any ideas?

3. One of Andea’s bound neomah claims to know the whereabouts of one of a tomb rich in treasure: a cursed and forsaken monument to a Solar who betrayed their Deliberative and knelt to the Yozis, the defeated and imprisoned former masters of Creation.

Good loot, maybe. Maybe items that could be put to better use than their original traitorous owner

4. The Maiden has been tasked by the First and Forsaken Lion with killing Ten Thousand Jaws, the lord of the Deadspeakers. She has long convinced the ghosts of the dead to avoid the Deathlords and their machinations, and must now pay the price for meddling in the affairs of Oblivion.

This is assigned mission for

ajdynon ’s character. The problem is, I’m pretty sure the rest of us won’t agree with it

Also, she’s been ill for a week with an unknown malady. Did the First and Forsaken Lion grow impatient and send another assassin to take her out? That could lead us an interesting side-mission if the Maiden decides to defect at this time.
