<Angelo> hi guys!

<Knockwood> Hiya Angelo, nice timing

<Random_Nerd> (Heh. Knew that would work.)

<lazarus> hey Angelo

<Angelo> what timing? Someone summoned me?

=-= lazarus is now known as Brian

=-= Verithe is now known as Kite

=-= Etheric is now known as Carrie

<BethE> Hi Angelo!

  • Kite hides the summoning circle

=-= BethE is now known as Theresa

<Random_Nerd> And that goat wasn't sacrificed. We're... just having a barbecue.

  • Angelo Hug Beth and thank her for the webcomic link

<Kite> I happen to like goat meat.

<Theresa> So, we don't have a True God and we have an idea at a Fallen.

<Angelo> yum! Goat bbq!

=-= Knockwood is now known as DanteE

<Theresa> Angelo - oh? Oh, wait, the dancing Marigold?  :)

<Kite> We do have a True God.

<Angelo> ?_?

<Random_Nerd> A True God of Dionyl, yeah.

<Theresa> Oh, yes, my mistake.

<Angelo> toTheresa this one: http://www. girlgeniusonline. com/comic.php

<Theresa> Oh, Girl Genius! Yes, that is so very very very awesome!

<Theresa> (I thought you meant my http://questionablecontent. net/view.php?comic=2564 link from facebook.)

  • Angelo nod nod

<Random_Nerd> So, let's see. Does everyone know about the thing Vulcan asked Kite?

<Angelo> (nope)

<Theresa> Hmm, deadman's switch? That throws everyone into..I'm not sure?

<Brian> (?)

<Kite> Kite hasn't relayed it yet, but he can have relayed it just before we begin!

<Random_Nerd> Shall we start with him explaining it?

<Angelo> yeah

<Random_Nerd> __________START_______________

=-= YOU are now known as Ftisk

<Random_Nerd> William drags a second whiteboard into place, next to the one with FALLEN written on the top in big letters.

<Random_Nerd> Sam returns with coffee for those of you who wanted it.

  • Ftisk listen to Verithe

<Kite> "Lord Vulcan is installing a safeguard in the meeting place. A secret safeguard that no one outside this room is allowed to know about."

<Theresa> "Oh?"

<Kite> "Dante, if your honesty is going to make you a blabbermouth, you can leave and not listen."

<DanteE> "I want to hear this..."

<Random_Nerd> William wipes out where Sam sketched a little picture of Balphegor going "Rawr!"

<Random_Nerd> W: "Should we leave?"

<Kite> "Only if you promise not to be a blabbermouth."

<Kite> "That may be for the best, William."

<Ftisk> "Stay, stay ,what could ever go wrong?"

<DanteE> "I may not lie, but that doesn't mean I tell everything. Talk."

<Random_Nerd> Sam sits down next to his own cup of coffee. The swirling in it gradually grows still, as it cools down rapidly.

<Kite> "I'll be watching you, Dante."

<Random_Nerd> Sam: "So... safeguard?"

<Random_Nerd> Sam: "This is in addition to The Thing In The Box?"

<Kite> "Anyway, Lord Vulcan will be or has already installed a....er....thing in the meeting place which will allow me, should I find the situation to merit it, to either shunt the meeting place into or out of Creation."

<Kite> (Did I remember that right?)

<Random_Nerd> (Well, one way or the other. He wants you to say which one to install.)

<Kite> (Oh!)

<Random_Nerd> (And for Kite to be the one to hold the trigger.)

<Random_Nerd> (Because he doesn't know the rest. And he /does/ know Ftisk.)

<DanteE> "You’re saying the summit world has an ejection seat?"

<Ftisk> "COOOL!"

<Kite> "Yes, but I need to let Lord Vulcan know which direction to set it."

<Theresa> (*points* See, that right there.)

<Ftisk> "Toward outside, toward out side ! TOWARD OUTSIDE 4 THE WIN!!!"

<Brian> "Outside. Worst case, best option"

<DanteE> "Just to clarify... are you saying when you hit the button everything there gets thrown out?"

<Random_Nerd> (Or in! Depending on which one Kite picks to have installed!)

<DanteE> "What exactly do you mean by 'in or out of Creation'?"

<Theresa> "Hmm, I'd say outside as well. If we're going to unleash Baelhermon, why not let him loose into outside?"

<Kite> "In or out, depending. Buttons may be a metaphor."

<Carrie> "I suppose that, if the situation ends up calling for it, unleashing several Warmains into Creation would not be a good thing.

<DanteE> "If we get spat outside of the Wall that means everybody there will be floating around with amnesia...

<Ftisk> "Seconded!"

<DanteE> "'Everybody there' including some big names in Creation and the War."

<DanteE> "And us, don't forget."

<DanteE> (Maybe we should get emergency tattoos...)

<Kite> "It would be dangerous for either side."

<Carrie> (Like, name, Estate and serial number?)

<Kite> (Am I remembering correctly that Vulcan will not be attending?)

<Random_Nerd> (Correct.)

<Random_Nerd> (Vulcan is providing logistical and political support and staying very far away from the meeting itself.)

<Ftisk> (smart guy my Boss :-P )

<Kite> (Good.)

<Theresa> (...why am I imagining now a Noble Memento movie?)

<DanteE> (Because I referenced it.)

<Carrie> (Now, what I want to know is, why is Courage the only one saying not to do something incredibly foolishly stupid?)

<Carrie> (Not that I mind. It'd be interesting to see what happens.)

<DanteE> (I'm Courage, I'm not Recklessness)

<Ftisk> (what do you expect from Ftisk...)

<Random_Nerd> ("If you're reading this, things went terribly, terribly wrong. Find your way back into Creation. Do not trust the skull.")

<DanteE> (Yeah, it's not like this set-up is a blatantly obvious trap or anything.)

<Random_Nerd> (Which version is the trap?)

<Random_Nerd> (Eject in, or eject out?)

<Ftisk> (I don’t see it as a trap!)

<DanteE> (either or both)

<Random_Nerd> Sam: "Should we draw up a pros and cons list?"

<Random_Nerd> William: "I should have never told you about those."

<Brian> "Always, Sam."

<Ftisk> "Nah, we can argue as reasonable Nobles .... Just kidding, totally do the list :-P"

<DanteE> "Possibly. Kite, if it points 'in', where exactly would everyone go?"

<Theresa> "Or an Inside vs Outside one."

<Random_Nerd> Sam goes over to the second whiteboard. S: "Okay, Inside. Pros."

<DanteE> "We'd retain our memories and abilities."

<DanteE> "We'd have heavy hitters right there to do the fighting, including Baalhermon."

<Ftisk> "Put in the inside -boooring- for me and in the outside -FuhUn- for me Sam, darling"

<Random_Nerd> Sam writes these down.

<DanteE> "Put 'Ftisk thinks it'll be fun' under Outside-Cons."

<Kite> "...."

<Theresa> "My opinion is that we should have everyone vented into the Outside, as that way we will keep the number of Excrucians entering Creation low and would unleash Baelhermon onto the Outside. Plus, we don't quite know what will happen to us, other than Ftisk, if we go over, so we don't know if it will be bad or good."

<Brian> "are you trying to hit on my anchor, now, Ftisk?"

<Random_Nerd> Sam makes a checkmark under Outside.

<Ftisk> "why not Brian?, he is not like I'm forcing him to do something"

<DanteE> "There's a bigger complication.

<DanteE> "What happens to the estates of the various entities thrown Outside?

<Ftisk> "right! We wanna do it to outside so we can know!"

<Theresa> "Hmm, don't know."

<Ftisk> "put on the pro that Sam"

<Kite> "The Estates of the Imperators will go where they go. Especially those of the True Gods."

<Theresa> "The Boss may get his memories back."

<Carrie> "So there's a chance that we'd be sacrificing many Estates from Creation..."

<Ftisk> "Cool! It’s a win!"

<Kite> "Right, Carrie."

<Random_Nerd> Sam writes Loss Of Imperators Is Bad in the Inside column.

<Random_Nerd> Sam: "Okay. And what happens if it goes inside?"

<Theresa> "Full Excrucian plus Shards into Creation."

<DanteE> "Presumably they would no longer be hooked to the Tree..."

<Kite> "Would the full Excrucians become trapped here, then?"

<Brian> "full excrucians may become wild gods

<Brian> or just eat everyone"

<Kite> "I would rather they become Wildlords than eat everyone, but there seems to be little difference."

<Ftisk> "Wait, there were full excrucians showing in creation before, so the wild gods idea is wrong"

<Kite> "At least if Lord Kudzu is to be our example."

<Random_Nerd> William: "To be fair, Ymera Kudzu doesn't eat /everything/."

<Theresa> "I think that if they come through and want to kill Creation, they're considered not-Wildlords."

<Kite> "True..."

<Ftisk> "Kudzu or any other wild god must have done something more/different that simply show in creation as excrus 4 me"

<DanteE> "Where will the Summit-world be again?"

<Ftisk> "on a dad’s made planet"

<DanteE> "We might have Kudzu regaining his memories when he goes there."

<Kite> "Lord Vulcan is making the where."

<Kite> "Is Lord Kudzu attending?"

<DanteE> "It would almost have to be, basically, in the wall, if the effects on memories we've seen still hold.

<Random_Nerd> (Yes, that's the plan.)

<DanteE> "It's pointless if no one remembers anything."

<Theresa> "Indeed. Half of the room will be inside, half will be out...and I'm sure that Ftisk will try to dance the meringue across the line."

<Ftisk> "being inside and flush the water toward inside is useless for me"

<DanteE> "... we should have our resident Wildlord scope the place out beforehand.

<DanteE> "It may just solve one of the Big Mysteries."

<Kite> "The place isn't complete yet, Dante."

<Random_Nerd> (How so?)

<DanteE> (He'll still be in Creation but have access to his Outside memories. We can ask him why he came, among other things.)

<DanteE> (And we need to do that before the Summit...

<DanteE> (just in case he remembers he came to KILL US ALL!)

<Random_Nerd> (Why do you assume that that's how it would work?)

<Theresa> (I didn't think that that was how it worked, Knock.)

<Ftisk> (IF the place would have this kind of link I believe it will have it when outsiders will be there, not before)

<Random_Nerd> (I'm not saying it isn't, but it doesn't strike me as obvious that that's how it would work.)

<DanteE> (It would need to for the Summit to work.

<DanteE> (Otherwise at least one side would be "We are here to ... um ... OK, I knew this..."

<Random_Nerd> (Oh, you mean the position it would be in once it's actually "launched.")

<DanteE> (Right.)

<Ftisk> (ah, actually your argument make sense!)

<Random_Nerd> (The plan is to do that only when it's time for the summit itself, as otherwise the Excrucians would view it as an attack.)

<DanteE> (Reminds me, do they know about the details?)

<Random_Nerd> (Which they?)

<Kite> (Which details?)

<DanteE> (and how do we tell them?)

<DanteE> (They.)

<Random_Nerd> (The Warmains?)

<DanteE> (Yep)

<Ftisk> (speaking of attacks, how are we sure Ophaniel will not attend?)

<Theresa> (We told the Excru that we would create a meeting place and they would show up at it.)

<Random_Nerd> (Negotiation has been via the Shards of Conrad's family.)

<DanteE> (Aren't they gone right now?)

<Random_Nerd> (Two still remain.)

<Ftisk> (nope they .. as RN said)

<DanteE> (OK. But I still say we need to check on Kudzu's memories before the actual Summit.

<Random_Nerd> (How?)

<DanteE> (Finding out important things like that _at_ the meeting would be ... bad.)

<Theresa> (You mean more than just asking him about his memories before we go?)

<Random_Nerd> (But... how?)

<Ftisk> (we can have antechamber or private ones, in these you could ask Kudzu)

<Random_Nerd> (Bear in mind, on the Outside side of the summit-world, there isn't time.)

<DanteE> (Dang, we're already late! :p )

<DanteE> (AFK a minute)

<Random_Nerd> (The point at which it intrudes into the Outside will be when and where whoever's going will go to.)

<Theresa> (Hmm, side-track thought of whether the Perfect Timing is related to that.)

<Random_Nerd> (So, you don't really have a gap between the launch and when the other side arrive.)

<Theresa> (So, our issues are either losing a bunch of estates to the Outside and possibly permanent loss vs letting loose a bunch of Excrucians and their shards?)

<Random_Nerd> (Because time is only a thing on the /inside/ of the summit world.)

<Random_Nerd> (Pretty much, yes, Theresa.)

<Ftisk> (laid out this way seem near more fun to have them inside creation, sigh!)

<DanteE> (BAK)

<DanteE> "I don't suppose Vulcan can put in a 2-way switch?"

<Theresa> (True, put that way, as long as we have Creation on alert in case the summit fails, the venting to Creation sounds better.)

<Kite> "Since this whole ordeal is meant to be a diplomatic mission, let's discuss how ejecting the meeting place in one way or the other will affect diplomacy."

<Kite> "That was not an option, Dante."

<Theresa> "Hmm, a question. Will the summit place be only accessible by those who have been invited?"

<Random_Nerd> (You don't even /know/ who'll be coming from the other side.)

<Kite> "I'm not sure it would be possible to make it like that without knowing who is attending from the Outside."

<Random_Nerd> (But there is a certain level of trust involved.)

<Theresa> "Diplomacy-wise, I'd think that either option will have the vented-to-side being upset and the non-vented side upset at losing their members and they will probably also see it as an act of betrayal on both sides, since no one will know what happened in it."

<Theresa> "Hmm, true. I was just thinking if anyone on _our_ side would try to crash the party."

<Ftisk> "Ophaniel! Would try!!! .. I believe!"

<DanteE> "Wait...

<DanteE> "How about, vent it to inside, and have troops on standby?"

<Theresa> "I was actually thinking of Barakiel. I think that he would believe pissing off both Creation _and_ Outside to be wonderful."

<Kite> "I am concerned that sending the meeting place into Creation would be seen as taking their diplomats hostage."

<DanteE> "They are Warmains."

<Random_Nerd> (If Entropy wanted to be there, he could probably get you to put him on the list.)

<Random_Nerd> (People with less pull than him have managed to do so.)

<Kite> "That doesn't negate this being a diplomatic mission."

<Ftisk> "Oh, Barakiel, Yeah totally That one not Ophaniel, ups, my wrong!"

<Kite> "Brian, can you get another lawbreaker and tell Barakiel that we're meeting on Pluto or something?"

<Theresa> "Good point, Kite."

<Theresa> "I think that was mostly Shadows' work and I don't think he has the oomph at the moment."

<Brian> (Ftisk saying something about Barakiel and Ophaniel)

<Random_Nerd> (So, you guys are going to have to make a decision on this. Or, at least, Kite is.)

<Random_Nerd> (Technically it's his call, at least if you ask Vulcan.)

<Kite> (Yeah. Kite can technically ignore what everyone else decides. He's just getting advice.)

<DanteE> "So... if our side gets spat out, can we make it back? Or, if their guys get spat in, can we contain the damage?"

<Theresa> "I'm not sure how we would handle the diplomatic side of taking a bunch of Excrucians hostage. Then again, if we're vented to the Outside, we would not need to have to explain to a bunch of chancels how we lost their Imperators."

<Brian> "we can find our way back Inside from Outside. I'm certain of that"

<DanteE> "Assuming those Chancels still exist."

<Random_Nerd> There are ways Inside from the Outside.

<Random_Nerd> Getting you guys in would be easier than getting the Imperators in, really.

<Random_Nerd> There's a reason the Excrucians usually send Shards.

<Brian> (nothing else, I'm certain we can be Summoned)

<DanteE> (Us, sure. But, say, Ophaniel?)

<DanteE> (And what happens to her Estates while she's floating around Outside?)

<Ftisk> (we can ask to the imps doing the guard in the spirit world to let our friendly excrus pass they guard post.. simple enough?)

<Random_Nerd> Now, bear in mind, this only comes into play at all if things go wrong.

<Random_Nerd> If nothing goes wrong, at the end everyone goes their separate ways.

<DanteE> Riiiiiiight.

<Random_Nerd> But... Vulcan wanted a "if things go wrong" plan.

<DanteE> (PCs follow the Firefly rule: "Things just don't _go_ smooth!")

<Ftisk> (soo true Knock)

<Theresa> (Ah yes, we have the Vulcan-venting go wrong plan and the Entropy-Baelhermon go wrong plan. I feel like I'm in a movie where everyone will come up to us with a 'if things go wrong' device and we'll finally just set them all off at once.)

<Kite> "If the meeting place does get sent outside, we may be branded as traitors for sacrificing the Imperators at the summit. We may not want to come back."

<Brian> (which reminds me). *prays to Shadows* "Shadows, sir, I have a request. There may come a time when we might need a Summoner inside Creation here to ... stuff. Um. Can you come visit?"

<Ftisk> "I’ll bet we can find shelter outside!" *smile*

<Theresa> (We'll have taken his 'brother' with us, Brian. He might pull Consequences back but leave us there.)

<Random_Nerd> Shadow, back: "This has to do with the Big Plan that Consequences is working?"

<Brian> "Maaaaybe?"

<Brian> "But it's more ... what we're working on. Just In Case."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Look, you know I'm in on this stuff. If this is important, I can go there. If it isn't, I'm busy."

<Theresa> (I get the feeling that Consequences might not like us all that well. We overdwell on the consequences of minor stuff and blindly blunder about on the big stuff.)

<Kite> "Well, I think I've decided."

<Brian> "Stuff that we'd rather keep to a small circle, is all. Prayer-speak is all well and good, but I'd rather talk in person about this one."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "So this /is/ about the big plan?"

<Brian> "Which way, Kite?"

<DanteE> "Like I said... it may be better to vent it to inside Creation, and have entities on standby that can deal with the fallout."

<Brian> (to Shadows) "Yes. But. Contingencies."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "If you have any defenses around your Chancel or the place where you are, you have five minutes to lower them while I prepare."

<Ftisk> "Booo! Always, always the boring option!" *sigh*

<Brian> "No one has any active defenses up, right?"

<DanteE> "Big battles among Imperator-level beings are _boring_?"

<Kite> "I think, In. I trust Creation to be able to deal with a few Wildlords. I'd rather risk holding their diplomats hostage than risk Lord Vulcan being labeled a traitor by association."

<Theresa> (Well, Ftisk wasn't around for the other time we were close to a full Excru, I think.)

<Brian> "I don't trust Creation to be willing and able to deal with full-on Excrucians, Kite."

<Ftisk> "Inside creation, stick with the safe way, always, ever!. Why not put the safety to go outside? New and exciting things would happen! But you are all Noooo is dangerous, who know what could happen, oh my! We can have some crazy imp go all boink (that would be awesome btw)"

<Ftisk> "... and I think I lost my track"

<Brian> "Shadows is coming here, I want him in on the ejector seat of doom. He's the only non-Familia I trust."

<Random_Nerd> A wall opens up into a black-and-red maw with rows of teeth the size of car tires.

<Kite> "But I don't."

<Theresa> "Were you going to show your Imperator your nimblejack, Ftisk?"

<Random_Nerd> A long green-black tongue-thing extends out. A humanoid figure, wearing a rather tacky hat, a T-shirt, and blue jeans walks along it.

<Ftisk> "Sure, as soon as I meet again him I'll prideful show my spiderJack!"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Did somebody say nimblejack?"

  • Ftisk run to peek the tongue!

<DanteE> "Ayep."

<Brian> "Yes. Ftisk adopted one."

<DanteE> "Hi Shadows."

  • Ftisk nod nod gleefully

<Random_Nerd> As he steps through, the apparently much grown Pigeon retracts itself into wherever it usually lives.

<Brian> "Against his ... well, he doesn't /have/ better judgment, now, does he?"

  • Ftisk hug shadow

<Theresa> (Wow. Pigeon’s grown up quite..interesting.)

<Brian> "So, Shadows, we have a contingency we're planning. If things at the summit go especially pear-shaped, we have an ... ejector seat of a sort. Problem is, it's going to send everything inside Creation. With probably enraged Warmains."

<Ftisk> toShadow "Can I have one?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "You'd have to learn to summon one."

<Ftisk> "drat!"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "But they're not that difficult. If you can bind a nimblejack, you're probably making at least some progress in that direction."

<Brian> "It's not /that/ hard Ftisk."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "So, what's the question?"

<DanteE> "I don't think he _bound_ it per se..."

<Ftisk> "my _spider_ Jack is my mount not a bind..."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Oh, right, I'm on the clock now."

  • Ftisk recall spiderJack to show him to Shadow

<Random_Nerd> He removes his hat and puts on his crown.

<Random_Nerd> It still looks photoshopped.

<Theresa> "If everyone at the Summit gets sent to the Outside, is there a way that you can summon all of us back?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Define... 'everyone'."

<Theresa> "Everyone who is currently of Creation at this point in time."

<Theresa> "Or do you need names?"

<DanteE> (Isn't there a whiteboard with attendees around?)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Are we talking Nobles I know personally? Nobles I don't know? Imperators? Excrucians?"

<Random_Nerd> (There is. William is currently standing in front of it in an apparently casual way.)

<Theresa> "Nobles, Imperators, your brother...oh and one human."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Nobles I know... probably, especially if I'm prepared. Nobles I don't... harder, it'd take time and I'd have to do each one individually."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Imperators... I have no idea. I've never even studied how to bring over anything bigger than a Noble, and even that's hard."

<DanteE> "These guys. (points to whiteboard)"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I... hmm. If I had two months to work on it, and a lot of support, I could at least work on finding a way."

<Ftisk> "Cheerleadering count as support?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Huh. Several wildlords. I wonder if that would make it easier or harder."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Wait, hold on. You have a way for Wildlords to go Outside again?"

<Brian> "Would it be easier than organizing a contingency task force to eliminate several potentially enraged full Warmains? And ... kind of..."

<Theresa> "This isn't a good way for them to go Outside. It's more of a catapult, I think. We're trying to figure out where it's aimed."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "So, I guess that's what I'd say. Nobles, yes, but it might be a more of gradually drawing you across over the course of a week or two. Imperators? I'd need to ask some big favors to even have a shot. Favors on both sides."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I don't suppose any of them practices High Summoning themselves, enough to have a fetch?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Because that could give them a... less than ideal... way to come back fast if they had to."

<Kite> "They don't really approve...."

<Theresa> "The Warmains don't approve."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I meant the Imperators. If you could... somehow swap them and their fetch, then if they had to, they could transfer most of themselves over by committing suicide."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I'm sure there'd be side effects, mind."

<Ftisk> "life is full of side effects Shadows..." pout

<Theresa> "Ah."

<Theresa> (I think I'm good for Kite to make his decision.)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "That raises another question, too."

<Brian> "oh?"

  • Ftisk ?_?

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Say this happens, and I somehow manage to eventually summon an Imperator. How do I know they haven't been mimic...ificiated? In the intervening... well, not /time/..."

<Random_Nerd> (V, ready for Kite to decide?)

<Theresa> "Ouch."

<Kite> (Yup!)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "But, on the other hand, I have no idea how to deal with a Breakthrough of multiple full Excrucians."

<DanteE> (I thought he did)

<Random_Nerd> (Did he?)

<Kite> (Yup!)

<DanteE> "You wouldn't be doing the latter alone."

<Brian> "Dante, who else would he have?"

<Brian> "No one else would /know/ until it's too late."

<Brian> "at which point, frankly, Creation is fucked."

<DanteE> "Any allies we can find who wouldn't be at the Summit, including Barakiel/"

<Random_Nerd> (...Barakiel is your backup plan?)

<Random_Nerd> (Man, okay, now we know what Plan D is!)

<Ftisk> (Barakiel is BAD as plan )

<Theresa> (Entropy will also probably be watching.)

<Brian> "And, ok, we've got the B-button, but he won't last long against multiple Warmains."

<Theresa> "Jan Ben Jan is probably somewhere getting colossally drunk."

<Brian> "I'm hoping Consequences doesn't have some kind of mental alarm system"

<Brian> "'cause otherwise, he ain't sleeping for weeks."

<Random_Nerd> (Let's see. Plan A is Everything Goes Fine. Plan B is Baalhermon. Plan C is the failsafe. Plan D is Barakiel?)

<Ftisk> (plan y is Barakiel)

<Ftisk> (D is too near the other plans)

<DanteE> (No, no, Plan C is the Failsafe plus Barakiel plus any other Imperators we can have guest-star.

<DanteE> (Plan D is we scrap all this and switch to Pathfinder.)

<Random_Nerd> (Heh. I like "D is too near the other plans.")

<Theresa> (I also like the D is too close to the other plans.)

<Random_Nerd> W, to Kite: "So, ultimately this is your call. What's the plan?"

<Kite> "The plan is I tell Lord Vulcan my decision and we diplomatize the hell out of that summit."

<Ftisk> "but what your decision is Kite?"

<Kite> "In a non Hell-bashing way."

<Kite> "Because."

<Random_Nerd> W: "So, you're keeping the answer to yourself?"

<Ftisk> "Kite, Kite, you aresoooo afraid of your family to not tell to old Ftisk?"

<Kite> "Maybe I can convince Lord Vulcan to install alarms."

<Theresa> "Well, if everything blows up, I'm sure that Lord Vulcan will know."

<Theresa> "Thank you for coming, Shadows. Is there anything you'd like to take back with you?"

<DanteE> "How's the summoning coming, by the way?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Uh... I dunno? I did the Lawbreaker. The boss is gone. I... don't really have a big project right now."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Uh, I had a flower rite two weeks ago. Deceiver thing. Flammable."

<Ftisk> "Flammable?"

<DanteE> "We had a couple flower rites at once (when?)

<Random_Nerd> (Ended about a week ago.)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I did have to call in help from the family. Still, Eclipses is good at handling that sort of thing. And Consequences has that explosion thing."

<DanteE> "Fortunately we managed to ... let's say 'settle' them.

<Ftisk> "yay I had one!"

<DanteE> "explosion thing?"

<Ftisk> "And managed to _talk_ the Warmain off it!!!"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I know that you've mostly just seen Consequences when he's... arranging things. But he has a few other tricks."

<Theresa> "We had a Deceiver and a Strategist-shard."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "A full Deceiver? How'd you deal with it?"

<Brian> "the way we normally do"

<Random_Nerd> (Oh, and Consequences' Explosion Gift has been shown in the game once before! Three and a half years ago.)

<Theresa> "..it thought we were so pathetic, it let us go and vowed to fight the system that held us captive."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "...that worked?"

<DanteE> "We're a weird kind of anti-awesome sometimes."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Hey, if it worked it worked."

<Theresa> "We also blew up a bunch of the humans it was palling around with. He got mad."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "I have the feeling that you guys approach these things in a very different way from how my family does."

<Ftisk> "They are all strange Shadows! I can confirm"

<Theresa> "You probably have more organization and less...dithering."

<Random_Nerd> (Consequences' offensive Gift was last references in Episode #157, True Believers!)

<Random_Nerd> (http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/Session_157)

<Theresa> (And plus, you have Consequences. He can Div what can happen.)

<Theresa> (Excelsior, dear.)

<Random_Nerd> (He actually doesn't have a very good Domain score!)

<Brian> (excelsior?)

<DanteE> "We're still relative n00bs, when you think about it.:

<Random_Nerd> (Stan Lee thing.)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "You're, like, 80% as experienced as I am. And I'm kind of a big deal."

<Brian> "Nobilis don't tend to live long, do they?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Hey, did you hear that the new Physics is still alive?"

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "And I hear the cybernetic replacement limbs are working well."

<Brian> "I didn't hear she needed. But yeah, I knew she was still alive"

<Random_Nerd> (So, should we cut to Kite having a brief conversation with Vulcan?)

<Theresa> "Hadn't heard about the limbs. Does she have her TARDIS yet?"

<Random_Nerd> (And then end there?)

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "Why bother? There's easier ways to time travel."

<Ftisk> (sure)

<DanteE> "I'm starting to think we should watch over Physics more..."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "You'd never have time for anything else. Physics gets hit, like, weekly."

<Random_Nerd> Shadows: "It's a /load-bearing/ Estate."

<Theresa> "But are there _cooler_ ways to time travel?"

<Random_Nerd> ___________CUT_____________

<DanteE> "Has it always been this... actively fought?"

<Random_Nerd> (So, Kite scene?)

<DanteE> (OK)

<Kite> (OK!)

<Ftisk> (Okiedokie)

<Random_Nerd> (So, would Kite just pray to Vulcan, or contact him through the Chancel, or puppet Gil?)

<Kite> (Kite has a few questions to ask first, so he's going to visit the Chancel.)

<Random_Nerd> (Okay. Then we'll be vague as to how this scene fits into the timeline.)

<Random_Nerd> (Meet Vulcan in his workshop?)

<Kite> (Yes, please!)

<Ftisk> ( ^___^ )

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan, right now, is in one of his less human forms. A thing like a giant reddish-brown slime mold, crawling over a long sheet of bronze and emitting acids to corrode certain spots to carefully chosen degrees.

<Random_Nerd> Still, he can hear in this form, although you're not sure where he keeps the ears.

<Theresa> (Is he making a circuit?)

<Random_Nerd> Or maybe the whole thing is just extremely sensitive to vibration.

  • Kite bird-bows, "Please excuse my intrusion, Lord Vulcan."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "It is no problem, son. This work is slow, but not particularly challenging at this stage."

<Random_Nerd> As for how it speaks... maybe the whole thing vibrates. Maybe he's got a mechanical speaker of some sort in there. Either would fit.

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "I assume you got the message I left with your servant?"

<Kite> "I did, sir. About that. Do you have plans for yourself, should either choice prove necessary?"

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "My bunker will be prepared by the time the miniature world is."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "But how do you wish the failsafe to function?"

<Ftisk> (outside!!!!!)

<DanteE> (That's a vote for 'inside'...)

<Kite> "I have one more question, sir."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "Yes?"

<Kite> "Would it be known that it was my choice and my choice alone, should such a decision be necessary.?"

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "If you wish it."

<Kite> "I do."

<Kite> "And my choice is to set the function to Outside."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "Then I will make sure that this is known, if it is necessary. My word is trusted among those Imperators who trust any."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "So, in the event that the failsafe is triggered, the world will recoil away from Creation, throwing itself into the Far Lands."

<Kite> "Correct."

<Ftisk> (What incredibly iron ba!!s ehm courage! /me bow to Kite)

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "Very well. Go to that table there." *he extends a long snakelike cilia* "and take the device made of dark metal."

<DanteE> (Gotta ask: what changed your mind?)

  • Kite approaches the table and takes the device.

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "Place it against your chest."

  • Kite does so.

<Random_Nerd> The arrangement of gears and spokes sinks into Kite's chest, and nestles in between his organs.

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "If you will it to take effect, or in the event of your death, it will be triggered."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "Should this take place, I will make certain that it is known that the decision was yours alone."

<Kite> "Thank you, sir."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "And thank you for bearing this burden. I love your brother, but this takes a steady hand."

<Ftisk> (lol! Too true))

<Kite> "I understand, sir."

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "I am sure that both of you will do me proud. This is a great thing that you do."

<DanteE> (A far, far better thing you do than you have ever done?)

<Random_Nerd> Vulcan: "It is a hard thing, but it does not often fall to us in these tasks to do easy things. Do it right."

<Kite> "Thank you, sir! I will do it right!"

<Random_Nerd> (anything before we end?)

<Kite> (Nope!)

<Ftisk> (nope)

<Random_Nerd> _______STOP______________

  • Ftisk clap Kite

=-= Kite is now known as Verithe

=-= DanteE is now known as Knockwood

=-= YOU are now known as Angelo

=-= Theresa is now known as BethE

<BethE> Noble choice, V.

<Knockwood> so, what convinced you to switch to Outside?

=-= Brian is now known as lazarus

<Knockwood> ISTR you were leaning toward Inside

<Angelo> ISTR?

<Verithe> Well, the only reason Kite wanted to choose inside was because he didn't want Vulcan to get any of the blame for the decision.

<Random_Nerd> "I Seem To Recall."

<Verithe> Sending it outside would have been more diplomatic, in his opinion.

<Knockwood> of course, us being us, it's now almost inevitable. :p

<Verithe> Kite's going to request that Shadows not summon him, though.

<Angelo> why?

<Angelo> political retaliation?

<Verithe> mostly

<lazarus> We do remember one of Brian's goals is to go Outside, right? ;)

<Angelo> mine is to make root outside with a family of excrus and all

<Angelo> ah, and one estate too

<Verithe> Kite's also not telling anyone of his final decision.

<Verithe> Because Brian is a blabbermouth.

<Random_Nerd> So, have these "final decisions before the summit" sessions been fun?

<Angelo> yes!

<Knockwood> Sure

<lazarus> Yes!

|<-- Carrie has left irc.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: )

<BethE> Yep!

<Verithe> Yes!

<lazarus> Night!

<Verithe> Night, Laz!

<Angelo> night laz

<BethE> Night, laz

<Random_Nerd> It is interesting how political this game has gotten.

<Knockwood> g'night Laz

<Random_Nerd> G'night, Laz.

<Angelo> really RN?

<Knockwood> we are putting a summit together

|<-- lazarus has left irc.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: lazarus)

<Angelo> well Ftisk is apolitical

<Angelo> he like fun things and stuff

<Random_Nerd> True.

<Random_Nerd> Still, just the degree to which the summit plotline has taken over lately.

<Random_Nerd> It's gone from being something you occasionally worked at, to full time The West Wing Only With Gods And Dragons.

<Knockwood> well, there are other things we can do...

<Random_Nerd> And it works for me, but it's not where I would have expected the game going when I started it.

<Knockwood> and they could tie into the summit as well.

<Knockwood> I still want to figure out some mysteries.

<Knockwood> It would help if we had something we can tell the Warmains, for one thing.

<Random_Nerd> Oh, that stuff will come up.

<Random_Nerd> Something you can tell them?

<Verithe> We have tons of things we can tell them!

<Verithe> "Hi!", for example.

<Random_Nerd> Y'know, I just had a random thought. This whole Summit plotline never even would have gotten started if Ftisk hadn't decided he wanted to temper a Warmain.

<Verithe> Also, "My name is [your name here]." and "Would you like a salad with that?"

<Angelo> lol true RN

<Verithe> Haha

<Angelo> but Ftisk want to become a full accepted member of outside

<Knockwood> Yeah, but they're gonna ask 'So, what's up with Shirk and Entropy?' and we can't tell them the truth

<Angelo> I have a pair of project toward that end

<Random_Nerd> Because that got you guys a relationship with that family of Shards, and talking with them inspired the peace talks thing...

<Random_Nerd> Why can't you tell them the truth?

<Knockwood> the truth is "Oh, Entropy's screwing with Shirk in order to win the war."

<Angelo> well is time for me to wake the kinds, see you in 2 weeks

<Knockwood> cya Angelo

<Verithe> Take care, Angelo!

<BethE> Night!

<Random_Nerd> Well, they're doing things to win the War too.

<Random_Nerd> I mean, there is a war on.

<Random_Nerd> Still, that is a good question to ask.

<Knockwood> Right, which means telling them our strategy is a bad idea

<Random_Nerd> When you get the Excrucians at the other side of the table... what /do/ you intend to tell them?

<Random_Nerd> And what do you expect them to tell you?

<Knockwood> Good question.

<Knockwood> How to solve it may involve figuring out what's really going on with the Valde Bellum

<Knockwood> ... is it just you and me now?

<Random_Nerd> I think so.

<Random_Nerd> And I'm about to head out too.

<Knockwood> OK, see you next week for Glass.

<Random_Nerd> Okay.
