Your conductor to GRAYSLAKE, almost...

'Yo, it's L, the conductor', and I got a story to tell y'all 'bout somethin' straight outta a nightmare. See, I'm gettin' ready to retire, and I thought I'd share one last story 'fore I hit the railroad to the great beyond. Now, this here's a wild one, so pay attention.

So, I was doin' my thing, runnin' my train like always, when all a sudden this crazy-ass creature comes outta nowhere. Now, I ain't never seen nothin' like it before, but it had the look of a monster, ya hear me? It was big, like a giant octopus or somethin', but it had arms like a spider and eyes like a cuttthroat. And it was all glowin' and pulsin', like it was lit up from the inside. I swear, it was like somethin' from a sci-fi movie or somethin'. It was like nothin' I ever seen before, and I've seen some wild ish in my day.

Now, this thing comes barrelin' down on my train, and I'm thinkin', '"What in the hell is this?!"' And I'm tryin' to get outta there, but my train ain't goin' nowhere. It's like it's stuck or somethin'. And then, the thing starts smashin' into the train, like it's tryin' to knock it over or somethin'.

Now, I'm freakin' out, man. I'm thinkin', '"This is it, I'm gonna die!"' But then, somethin' even crazier happens. The thing, it starts talkin' to me, man. It's like it's speakin' straight into my mind or somethin'. It's sayin' somethin' 'bout how it's a 'creature from another world', and it's here to bring about 'the end of days' or somethin'.

I'm like, '"What the hell, man?"' But then, it starts gettin' all religious, talkin' 'bout how it's the 'harbinger of doom', and how 'humanity's days are numbered' and all that. And then, it just disappears, man. Just like that.

Now, I'm sit here, still tryin' to process what just happened. I ain't never seen nothin' like it before, and I ain't sure if I ever wanna see nothin' like it again. But I know one thing, man: I'll never forget this night, and the crazy-ass creature that came on my train and changed my life forever. Word.

But, you know, as I sit here, speakin' to y'all from beyond the grave, I'm pretty sure that ain't nobody survived that night. See, I'm a conductor, and I got a feelin' for these things. And I'm tellin' you, man, that thing was the real deal. It was like nothin' we ever seen before, and I ain't sure if we'll ever see nothin' like it again.

'But, you know what? I think I was wrong. I think someone survived.' And you know what? I'm glad they did. Yeah, you heard me right. I'm glad they did.

Now, I know it might sound strange, but hear me out. See, I been thinkin' 'bout it, and I realized that maybe, just maybe, it was better for them to have died that night. I mean, think 'bout it. They saw somethin' that no human should ever see. They experienced somethin' that no human should ever experience. And they're still out there, livin' with that knowledge. That's a heavy burden to carry, man. And I'm glad I ain't got to carry it. I'm glad I'm just a memory, a story told 'round the campfire.

So, yeah, I'm glad they survived. I'm glad they got to live, even if it's with the knowledge of what they saw that night. And I'm glad I'm not here to carry that weight. Word.

'Now, my next stop was Grayslake', but I ain't quite make it there. See, that thing, it had other plans for me. It had other plans for all of us.
