This is how Shevinu's Notes appear to Cyrus when he has his comprehend languages spell active.

Scrollbearers of Aradil,

Pawns of the Prophecy

Personal notes while entrenched in the service of Izrador,

by his cowed vassal, Fesikri Iborkyla

written in blood: Isil’zha Voren!

Page 1

Commanders and comrades, may this report, humble as it may be, serve to us a field guide concerning a plot of the most insidious breed, in place against the Shadow in the North, praise his name!

A binding of unholy nature, and conspiracy to establish an impossible leader; Aradil the Whore has designs at power and influence over Eredane’s entirety. This feeble group holds the spark that will ignite a wildfire over the plains of Erenland, drawing in foul allies of the copse and crag, holding aloft a weapon of vast devastation. The hordes of orc and men still loyal to our cause may be laid waste if swift action fails to corrode the marrow of this cabal. His loyal instigant has accomplished much to corrupt their purity, but more remains for the future.

The Shadow calls me to a task that will effect the fall of another chief dwarven hold, and from the midst of the rebel fiends I steal away. The leadership of the hold will feed our siege, and internal plots against one another will terminate all hope once held for un-fay salvation by those who bear the Dastardly Scroll of Prophecy. Our holy work will manifest power for loyal dominions and shackle the maxims once held in trust by those with failing ends.

Striving and straining, their greatest blow to the Shadow will be Izrador’s greatest pride.

Isil’zha Voren!

Page 2

Quarrion

Wiry frame, black hair, unusual jowls for an elf. Tends to dress in warm drapery. Personality - Chaotic and rash, though powerful enough to reinforce his reckless attitude. Has an uncanny knack for using those around him as stepping stones on the path to safety, and will put others in danger without pause. Can be counted on to be unpredictable and overly proud. Magics tend to focus on deadly fire.

Fate unknown, presumed killed by a demon. If alive, his service would be greatly desired in our ranks.

This demon, if it was a demon, was being transplanted in a large stone barque to the northern mountains by elves of the deep Aruun. It is probable that they hold some sort of conspiracy with the vile dwarves there.

Scrying attempts revealed "ARR-OTCH-NEE-AWL" as the name of an important figure. This could be the location of their destination, or the name of a leader.

He is known to the Whore Queen, as he was her chosen one to carry the scroll. It is possible that she will seek him out again, perhaps giving away his location, if he survived.

Note that it is assumed that the plot to destroy Aradil’s plans was unknown to Quarrion. Was he killed to get one tied to the witch out of the way? Surely he would have easily stopped Danning’s plan to destroy the dwarves, had he survived.

Page 4

Danning Valendor

Bodyguard and servant of Quarrion. Ostensibly a mere lackey, though most likely a more significant bond between the two elves existed. May be the key to finding and using the more powerful of the two elves, if he survived.

Slight in stature, given his duties. Face holds a hard look, with more grey skin than most of the Caraheen. Scar above his left eye. Has a pathetic tendency to attempt to communicate by staying still and saying nothing.

Personality - Cocky but cautious. Over-sure of his own wisdom, Danning will boldly enter unknown danger when confronted with a familiar environment or when confident in his limited knowledge. However, when sensing a trap or apparent danger, his ample cowardice shows through. Rarely takes risks intentionally.

Trick him into thinking he occupies a position of advantage in order to lay a trap for him. His desire for tactical superiority, especially from high ground, can be used.

His loyalty to the Whore Queen is considerable, but his loyalty to his own goals is unquestionable. Will stab his own brother in the back and disobey the Whore Queen if presented with a temptingly easy solution to his woes. Have this arranged.

(A continuation of the previous entry)

Clearly a promising candidate for service to Izrador – will follow blindly any path simple enough for him to grasp. An easy pawn.

Our group is already at work manipulating the elf. He believes that his visions are from Aradil, while instead he serves our purposes. All has gone according to plan. He had a false copy made of the Scroll, containing text that he believes Aradil dictated to him.

At Redwinde, he destroyed what was made by the whore queen’s hand, replacing it with the message that will accomplish his own goals. Allow these to plans of his to blossom – the war will destroy the last remnants of resistance in Eredane.

Page 6

Enregard Brewer

Large dornish oaf with a look of poor breeding. His loud mouth has ensured an end to the smuggling and illegalities taking place under his uncle’s brewery. Reports indicate their torture and eventual betrayal of the rest of the townsfolk. Enregard himself is currently serving as a slave to an orc named Gorsgk, in the far north, after his cowardice separated him from the rest of the Scrollbearers.

His mind is no longer bent against the truth and the Shadow. He will soon add to the ranks of the armies of legions, fighting against the elves of the far north.

Page 7

Lola

Athletic Erenlander girl with rather unkempt, long auburn hair. Continues to wear the immodest doe skins of youth, likely due to immaturity or innocence. Appears very lean and bronzed, almost rangy and infertile by most human standards.

Personality - Timid but dangerous. Lola seems relatively helpless, but has the potential to be the most powerful of the Scrollbearers.

Suffers from indecisiveness and acute fear of vulnerability. Presented with an obvious lure, she will leap at the easy choice, but freezes up when confronted with multiple options or ambiguous decisions. Split from the group, she is but a fawn.

Shackled and stripped bare she is still quite dangerous, but mentally, helpless and afraid. Spread the rumor amongst the goblins that her attire is lined with gems and magic trinkets – their greed will result in Lola’s horror, and her easy defeat.

Touch not her ring! The magic that flows through it allows her to be easily spied upon, and ensures that the Scrollbearers can never remain hidden.

Page 8

Duplicates are being made of the ring’s twin, allowing her every move to be observed by our spies. Not even the pitiful orc holding the matched ring knows of this plot.

Easily manipulated by those around her, it is a wonder her friends do not simply use her as a pack animal or to satisfy their base appetites. Her loyalty to her allies is remarkable, especially considering how deeply she had been betrayed in the past. Well-placed influence from our more subtle agents should alleviate this problem and turn her against them.

She is thus far ignorant of Danning’s plot to turn the dragons against mankind and the Erenlands, and of the debt she owes Cyrus. Her bliss will come to an end soon enough. How she is still calling to the mighty Sus is unknown, but her enthrallment by this holy demon is complete.

Page 9

Mosgrim

Bald, beardless dwarf, covered with tattoos. Chest skin has been flayed, leaving a large bed of scars. Many piercings.

Personality – Deceptive, rash, and violent. Can be trusted to be discrete with knowledge that undermines the security of the Scrollbearers. Extremely dangerous when confronted with orcs. Presented with a familiar face or ample ale, he could be useful in service to Izrador, but only covertly or as a pawn. His tremendous hatred for orcs is unfailing and uncompromising, making the likelihood of him knowingly serving our lord very slim.

Primary figure wanted for the death of Comodos and Dumass.

Proof of his involvement was given to authorities in Sweet Water. They are currently looking for Danning, Mosgrim, Lola, and Quarrion for this deed. The local Warden was notified.

Page 10

(A continuation of the previous entry)

Fate unknown. Claimed to have left the Scrollbearers to bring word to Steelguard. His skills at deception are well-practiced, so this is of little value. His downfall may come from his own people – it seems even the pathetic Kurgen hold him in low regard.

Probably knew some of Danning’s plan to rob the dwarves of mithril, in order to give it to the whore queen. This traitor dwarf hoped to help the woodself and the elves slaughter his own race.

Page 11

Cyrus

Typical height and appearance for a Sarcosan. Dark skin, lanky frame. Dresses and equips himself as though he has never seen an orc patrol. Thin, almost patchy facial hair, and a slightly bent nose. Smooth-talker, and charming to the simple-minded.

Personality - Cannot be trusted. Surely conspiring against both the Shadow and the Whore Queen.

Likely serves a third party, perhaps a dragon. Obviously not cleaver enough to be independent, it would be easy for our agents to manipulate his orders, if the source is found.

His rapier is his true source of power. Without it, he is an easy match. The difficulty will be in getting it – Cyrus is markedly agile considering his low heritage, and his armor repels most attacks. His simple mentality is his weakness – enchantments are the key against him.

Compelled to give up the sword, he is far less dangerous, though still not an easy target. Hampered by his armor and weak of limb, he should be easily held by a large orc, making him helpless against the blows of even goblins.

Page 12

(A continuation of the previous entry)

Motivated by his own accomplishments and gloating nature. Considers himself on the side of right in every situation. His tremendous pride makes him pathetically easy to manipulate for our purposes.

Lola is still unaware that he murdered her entire family and stole that which was most important to them. His manipulations of the elf lead us right to where his agents left her. How far he will take his vaunt and hubris regarding her tragedy is still unknown.

Seems enraptured with the idea of magic and items of power. He will be duped into serving the Shadow if tempted with such knowledge and possessions. His blatant disregard for a helpless innocent, displayed at the destruction of the pale mirror of Redwinde, betrays a wonderful potential in Cyrus.

Under another guise, Thalekmor has had some dealings with Cyrus in the past.

Page 13

Information gleaned on the prophecy to come

We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of Black Seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should know such divinity.

He has no family name, no lineage that anyone will discover: The fey not birthed fey. The orc born unto man.

"No bone broken. To dream in the city of sorrow, he is Half-Oruk with the soul of the Fey of old and the heart of the men of tomorrow's age.

He is the spirit, and we are his voice, his hands, his fire.

He shall be the greatest of us because he is more than us.

He is every hand that strikes for freedom’s purpose.

He is the eye that sees for us, the strength that fights for us, the wisdom that shall conquer the unconquerable. The leader of the Army of Light known as the Kra'Shok, comprised of Human, Dwarf, Elf, and Dragon lead by the Half-Oruk who will battle the enemy not mine, the SHADOW."

This view held by the speaker is disturbing.

Page 14

These men, these elves, these dwarves, each tribe straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little. Someday the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new age of Eredane.

This Half-Oruk child shall be born unto an Oruk mother. The womb of humans could never hold such a thing.... The human patronage of this fearsome new savior is mankind. A Prince of Men.

He is the only male heir to the throne of Vencin (the land of Cambrial), his name is Lodi.
