Chimera of Siccoventium Setting

Paradise Lost Siccoventium was a perfect scientific utopia. Nothing lasts forever.

Hubris led them astray, and their drive for scientific exploration sowed the seeds of their own destruction. Using secrets of dimensional travel now long lost, they harvested creatures, biomes, and shards of creation from countless worlds. A cataclysm destroyed much of their technology, the wreckage strewn across the planet.

Evidence of the precursors lies in these varied wastes of what once was: fossilized bones of leviathan cities; enigmatic self-actualized technology; strange energy surges; mutating dimensional radiation; and more dot the landscape.

Chimera Rising The remnants of myriad worlds cast across this fractured land by the cataclysm seeded a regrowth. Oceans reformed alongside thick jungles, blizzard-stricken tundra, parched deserts, arboreal forests, impossibly tall mountains, and scouring lava flows. These collected flotsam and jetsam give rise to a disparate, mutated new breed of being known as Chimera.

Beings from worlds that never should have met bred and their descendants have bred. From the organic bio-vats of Wiwrathi where Chimera are grown to fill a specific job; to byzantine Tasmea where Chimera are bound to embody their matronym; to glittering Ragbah where all Chimera's most intimate desires are catered to by unknowable precursor machines; to the living ocean of Bahreamik - a community of trillions of watergels bound into a telepathic matrix of communion and deceit; to the countless Chimera who represent the last of their culture: the Chimera of Siccoventium are truly diverse.

Towering Cities The cities of the Chimera rest on plateaus of stone and reach for the stars in the tri-moonlit sky. The wealthiest Chimera live high up in towers bedecked with terraces, airboat moorings, and even succulent gardens. Lower structures are dense, maze-like, and fortified.
