Do we need to buy this? I included it for flavor as much as anything.

Complications

Motivation: Responsibility of Power: When Sol's country was under attack, his newly-acquired powers couldn't be left to stay stateside!

Prejudice: Sol is very obviously a gangster; some people don't like that. He's also obviously jewish; some people don't like that, either.

Disability/Vulnerability: Sol is much higher in iron content than he used to be. While he's stainless, he still weighs enough to have to consider where he stands, and strong magnets can easily ruin his entire day. Also, he shines. Literally. Not like the T-1000, but put a strong light on him and he stands right out.

Background

Sol, large and strong and born into a questionable life in a questionable neighborhood, took the simple way out-- he became a gangster. His winning smile and silver tongue did an astonishingly good job of keeping him out of trouble with the law, but it was his mighty fists that gave him a further reputation, and he wasn't the worst shot out there, either. Mostly, though, he didn't even need to resort to violence that often-- his size and intimidating looks were adequate.

Didn't help him when that other family tried dumping him in the wrong end of a steel mill, though. What helped him there, he doesn't know-- he came out stronger and tougher than he'd ever been, and it was a miracle! But why would a guy like him get a miracle? Surely God had more worthy people to look after...

And then, a mere week later, he learned when Pearl Harbor was bombed. It had been a sign, and he had a duty to do. He'd become something great, now he needed to do great things with it. He hasn't told his old gang about his exact views on this topic, but it doesn't matter-- they understand patriotism well enough, and he hasn't lost the support of his gang.

Yet.

After the war, who knows?

Personality

Sol is gregarious, friendly, and generous; he's also loud, but fairly good at keeping his actual opinions to himself. Underneath that, of course, is a core of not merely iron but iron with spikes-- the brutal violence he's capable of is not a joke. He prefers to keep his threats indirect and veiled, however, and genuinely likes people. Being on the straight and narrow isn't too bad, either-- not threatening people who are your neighbors and friends, for example, is good. But he's also much more likely to indulge himself in alcohol, girls and other vices than some-- it's what he's used to, and worrying about every little regulation is just not what he does.
