The posse edges into the tunnel, lead by the striding Proxenus, Turtle under one arm, for once the epitome of the fearless Yelmalion warrior. Helios hoots his mirth....

The hunter's of the queen edge their way into the mist filled cavern, avoiding the struggling groups of fighting creatures, locked in their endless stife.
  
They pass the newtling bachelors , who line the walls, tridents held high in salute.Each mumours a prayer of luck and charms begin to activate one by one as protective songs are croaked.

Underfoot, bones crunch and by the light of Orendal's lantern the three posse members see that the floor is littered with broken weapons and bits of humanoid armour. There is the occasional glint of silver through the mist, but there is no time to examine the hidden treasures...
  
The way turns quickly from gold to grey , with warm mist hugging the men's ankles as they walk. Under lantern glare the wall's shadows take on the look of biting mouth and slashing claw, making several men recoil in fear before they realize that it is just a play of light

At the far end of the cavern they find Gort waiting at the opening to a tunnel.
  
Unseen bones crunch underfoot, causing the occassional stumble and wince of pain.

The lead three; Proxenus, Jarenst and Palmir, suddenly find themselves at the tunnel's opening. Behind, the lanterns of Belkar and Orkal are held aloft, illuminating part of a large cavern, filled with warm, fetid air, with clouds of mist hiding both floor and ceiling. No hint of wind, but nevertheless the fell fog swirls in intricate patterns.....runes form and vanish, a face perhaps? a flash of ancient hide....

And without further ado the group heads into the unkown at a run
  
The noise of water comes from somewhere ahead, strange sounding and as the mist clears for a moment the men can see a slowly moving stream...an ice slurry, which rises above the stream's bank, moving slowly to the left, crackling and slooshing ominously.

The passage quickly changes from grey to reddish orange and the floor is soft underfoot as rock is replaced by sand.
  
A newtling whimpers..armour creaks and the posse begin to sweat.

Its warm, uncomfortably so....
  
Was that a shadow moving in the mist? Hugging the ground, quick and snake like ....

The men run, the lantern shakes and it is only Astis' quick warning that prevents the hunters running straight into the two large Rock lizards that are blocking their way, tails thrashing, tongues a blur within their nastily fanged mouths....
 
 
The press of bodies begin to push the spirit fighters slowly into the misty cave, as all try and get a glimpse of what awaits.....
 
 
 
''Lets get this over with before i crap myself'' bleats Belkar, eliciting a nervous laugh from Orkal, Eurmal, Orkal.
