This often leads to him trying to shield Nariko from the consequences of his debts, but her going out of her way to protect him from the debt collectors.  The two live in a very small apartment above the garage.
* '''Reika Yukimura:''' One of the most popular girls in school and, once upon a time, Nariko's best friend.  Now her worst enemy, Reika is the source of many of the worst rumors that go around the school about Nariko.  Not a fighter, but an excellent student and extremely socially adept with lots of allies because of this.  Essentially, she's strong where Nariko is weak, and ruthlessly exploits this to her advantage.
