Barely a young man when Smaug was awoken for the last time, Frey loosed his arrows alongside the other bowmen in defence of Esgaroth. Lit afire by Smaug’s breath, Frey was forced to jump into the lake to douse the flames. Horrific scars on the left side of his face, as well as the his body, indicate to onlookers where he was marred by the dragon’s fiery breath. If not for these lasting marks he would be considered a handsome man; his features are finely chiseled and his piercing blue eyes are remarkable. With his family gone and no memory of making it to shore, Frey spent the days of his long recovery obsessively sifting through dusty tomes seeking knowledge of the creatures responsible for his misfortune. Since those days he has been a vigilant member of the Guild, however, exhausting the supply of local tomes has left Frey restless. He knows that he must venture forth from Laketown in order to gather more knowledge of the only foe he has ever known... dragons.
