Initiative

  • Initiative rolls are treated as Opposed for the purposes of Joss and the River.
    • Malicious Joss counts as Xia Joss for Initiative; i.e. it increases your Lake by 1 rather than diminishing your opponents' Lakes.

Marvels

  • Where narratively appropriate, and at the Sage's discretion, a particular Disrupt or (especially) a Disorient Marvel may be defended only by a particular Skill.

Chi

  • Elemental Chi does not count toward Chi Threshold

Secret Arts

  • If you fail to Resist a Discovery roll, you may not make your first Recovery roll against a Chi Condition until the scene in which it was Discovered has been completed.

Minions and Lesser Legends

  • For every +10 by which an attacker's Damage modifier exceeds the Toughness of a Minion unit or Lesser Legend, a successful strike will inflict an additional Ripple.
  • Lesser Legends suffer an across-the-board -5 Action Penalty when reduced to half their Ripple total; the penalty increases to -10 when reduced to 1/3 (rounding down) their Ripple total.
