Europe fared poorly in WWIII.  Despite not being main combatant the effects of nuclear fallout, tectonic disasters, famine, disease, and other calamities effected Europe in many ways causing widespread hardship. The destruction of India and the Iran-Hong Kong corridor had effects across Europe.
 
 
A series of earthquakes caused a massive uplift of land between Spain and Morocco effectively blocking the Straights of Gibraltar. Efforts of European and African countries in the ten years after WWIII managed to open a narrow canal 2 miles wide from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean.  The region is frequently fought over.

WWIII largely skipped Africa.  Certainly the coasts took damage from tidal waves but most of the thrust of the waves were southerly not westerly.  The continent had long suffered from disorganization but the ten years after WWIII aw the exhaustion of existing stores of military hardware and ammunition.
