This realm is a very active realm and has taken quite a lot of damage as a round of wars have permanently disfigured the world.


==North America==
The United States is comprised of a loose association of Prefectures subdivided into smaller states. The Federal Government controls the navy of the combined states, the Federal Prison system, and to some degree the military and the Center for Disease Control and Management for the various Prefectures.  Beyond that the Federal Government has little control over the member prefectures.

While the North American continent is pictured here and is fairly active and well populated, the rest of the world has suffered many challenges of their own.

==South America==
a nuclear blast centered on the Panama Canal permanently separated the two continents and eliminated the quick route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.  Brazil and Argentina were peripheral victims in the nuclear fallout as a collection of nuclear weapons of uncertain origin rained down on the Amazon delta.  Fallout crossed the east coast of South America making both highly dangerous to survive in.  

===The '''South Coast Partnership'''===
A nation surviving well in the Blighted Earth and comprises Chile and Peru with wide parts of Boliva and the highlands of western Argentina.  It became a refuge for survivors  of Japan, as a national effort to flee Asia lead nearly 300,000 Japanese citizen to Chile. Relations between Japan and Chile had long been cordial, despite WWII.

Technologically advanced, Chile survived the nuclear devastation of panama and eastern South America.  Many Corporations have headquarters in Lima and La Sierra.  Military weapon development is highly restricted.  The civilian weapon industry, mostly providing worldwide auto-dueling equipment, is strictly prohibited.

The SCP hosts world class medical facilities.  Existing governments around the world have transferred many of their medical and scientific research centers to this stable region of the world.

==Asia==
In the exchanges of nuclear weapons China, Russia, India, and Iran, something deeply structural in the planet became unstuck.  The Indian Plate, a tectonic plate including the Indian Subcontinent buckled, and crushed upwards into the Eurasian Plate, twisting the Arabian Plate along the way. The impact caused the lower part of the Eurasian plate to crumble from The Caspian Sea, through Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tibet and ending in the South China Sea at Hong Kong. These regions crumbled and were covered by the ocean creating a long band of unstable islands.  Tidal Waves scrapped Southeast Asia and Indonesia in miles high waves that broke in the middle of the continent of Australia.  The lost of life was over 2 billion people.  The water receded  but little of civilization remained.  
*Japan:  In the days leading up to WWIII a massive effort was made at national unity, call '''''Furaito''''', or "The Flight .  In the end a fleet set sail east comprised of military and merchant ships carrying nearly a million people.  An airlift of JAL and confiscated passenger planes totaling 400 planes with an escort of 300 military craft and support planes flew ahead of the sea armada.  They landed in Chile ahead of the War.  Nearly half the fleet was lost at sea and in the end 295,000 survivors arrived on the west coast of south America.  These people were pivotal in the creation of the '''South Coast Partnership.'''
==Antarctica==
The Indian Plate destruction created a tidal wave that struck Antarctica and destroyed Casey Station and crushed the Antarctic Ice sheet.  Regions south of India and Australia were destroyed.  Regions below South America served as bases for survivors of several southern naves and populations from Argentina and Chile.  

Official Antarctica is a protectorate of the '''South Coast Partnership''' though many growing ports dot the coast line.

-==Europe==
-Europe fared poorly in WWIII.  Despite not being main combatant the effects of nuclear fallout, tectonic disasters, famine, disease, and other calamities effected Europe in many ways causing widespread hardship. The destruction of India and the Iran-Hong Kong corridor had effects across Europe.
-A series of earthquakes caused a massive uplift of land between Spain and Morocco effectively blocking the Straights of Gibraltar. Efforts of European and African countries in the ten years after WWIII managed to open a narrow canal 2 miles wide from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean.  The region is frequently fought over.
-==Africa==
-WWIII largely skipped Africa.  Certainly the coasts took damage from tidal waves but most of the thrust of the waves were southerly not westerly.  The continent had long suffered from disorganization but the ten years after WWIII aw the exhaustion of existing stores of military hardware and ammunition.
