Back to For The Spirit Of Creation

The saga began in the city of Moorshire Lake. Four teenagers-- Hana Jeong, Bobby Cutting, Jennifer Marinia, and Georgia Emmerson walked to school. Each had independently learned of their own abilities, but none knew the others as yet.

Hana and Jenny, at the behest of Hana's best friend Judy, began a conversation, somewhat interrupted by threatening gestures from fellow students Mila Kusanagi and Libby Stevenson|Libby Stevenson. As the bell rang, the headmaster called the three of them, as well as Georgia, over to talk, although his reasons for doing so were unclear to the girls.

They would, perhaps, have been clearer to Bobby-- Headmaster Ashford was Bobby's contact in the school, and he was given the assignment of keeping an eye on Georgia, Jenny, and Hana.

In the meantime, another day began for homeless teen runaway Sara Aldred. She met with Alice, who ran the shelter Sara stayed at, and began yet another patrol of the city.

The day at school passed without anything more significant that a discussion of playing cards. However, when the school day ended, trouble quickly began...

Hana, Judy, Georgia, and Jenny were talking after school. Bobby was keeping an eye on them, and Sara was heading to the school in an attempt to scrounge art supplies.

Suddenly a storm started, and a booming voice challenged the girls-- General Phillipi had arrived, and his Void Storm had frozen in time everyone who did not possess magical powers. Hana, Jenny, Georgia, and Sara quickly moved to attack, while General Phillipi summoned a number of Saracens to fight the girls. Bobby stayed at the edges of the fight, observing, until General Phillipi, noticing him, summoned another Saracen to attack him.

The fight was brutal. Hana was able to slay several Saracens with her Ribbon of Blades power, aided by Sara's Binding Rune, but was, in turn, severely injured by the Saracens' claws, as was Bobby. Jenny did tremendous damage with her Creation's Fury, but General Phillipi was untouched by it, and, despite taking a hit from the Ribbon of Blades, was able to unleash his Lightning Barrage which downed Sara, and nearly felled the remainder of the team. Georgia tried to challenge General Phillipi directly, grasping his lightning and nullifying his dark magics, but General Phillipi was too strong to be stripped of his powers.

He then vanished, cryptically remarking that he should have expected such power from Hana.

With Georgia and Jenny's healing magics, the girls quickly recovered, but noticed the masked Bobby spying on them as time restarted for everyone else. Hana quickly concluded that Bobby must be a spy for the forces of chaos and attempted to catch him, but he evaded her and vanished.

After discussing the situation, the girls followed Sara's lead, and went to talk to Alice about the situation. Alice told them about the Nihils, and General Phillipi, who was revealed to be a human imbued with the power of the Void.

The girls went home, to contemplate their situation.

The next day at school began, and Erin Watson, sick on the first day, came to class. Sara, as well, had come to school to talk with the others.

As the other girls talked, Erin used her goggles to search for sources of magic, and quickly detected Sara's spray can, among other things. She approached the group, and, to convince them to talk to her, demonstrated her own magic.

As they talked, the group was approached by Mila and Libby, and Hana, trying to scare them off, used her Gaze of Doom, which produced a number of surprising results-- Erin detected magic in Hana's gaze, Georgia detected dark magic in it... and Mila was unaffected by it, her own, mysterious, abilities setting off Georgia's and Erin's senses as well. In addition, Georgia detected dark magic in Erin's powers, due to residues left by their original source.

Georgia attempted to warn the others about these assorted dark powers while Mila and Hana, each unwilling to back down, started to fight. The fight was brutal and inconclusive, and quickly broken up by Headmaster Ashford.

In the aftermath, Hana and Mila were both given in-school suspensions, and the confusion over the source of various characters' powers was not immediately resolved. Mila challenged Hana to a return bout, possibly with weapons, off school grounds, and Hana gleefully accepted.

The girls discussed the situation over lunch, (Sara was able to join them, thanks to the Headmaster's charity) and they learned something of Sara's history. They also agreed to meet after school to train and plan further...
