- Usher and Pietr Rulianoff both wanted Gregory Parkhurst's notes, which Macklin had.
- Rulianoff later received Parkhurst's notes from Victor Grayson.
- Bitterman was killed because he discovered the Kansas City farmhouse where Usher's scientists were experimenting with ways to weaponize Parkhurst's Disease, or control people infected with it
- Meridon Caine brokered the purchase of the farmhouse
- Lorenzo Farbeq was in charge of procurement for the farmhouse, and arranged for the transportation of three kidnapped children
- These children were used as guinea pigs and potential vectors for the new strains of the disease
- Farbeq is well-known and respected in Kansas City
