The Thin Pink Line

The Thin Pink Line is a play by post style game set in the universe of the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha anime and manga. It uses the Savage World rules system with the Super Power Companion, and is run by ANT Pogo

Options in Effect

  • Standard Power Level
  • Inherent Power/Total Power (30 at start, 5 per free power edge)
  • Recurring Roles
  • Inherent Bravery
  • Heroic Bennies (Everyone is Heroic, but rather than have Heroic Bennies, can use Cartridges)
  • Knockback
  • Unarmed Defender
  • Initial Rank is Novice with 30 Power Points

House Rules

  • You can't inflict more than one Wound per hit, regardless of how many Raises you get.
    • Exception: You can spend Cartridges (before you attack) to increase the max Wounds per hit by one per Cartridge used.
  • Cartridges: A special form of Bennie. People start with 6; higher ranked Mages might carry more. Cartridges are used before a roll is made (except for Soak rolls). Each Cartridge can do ONE of the following:
    • Add 1d6 to a Trait test
    • Add 1d6 Damage
    • Increase the Wound cap by one
    • Used to make a Soak roll.

Simulating the Nanohaverse

  • Barrier Jacket = Armor with Requires Activation and Device.
  • Round Shield = Most basic defensive spells can be modeled as Toughness with Requires Activation and Device.
  • Protection = Most active defense spells can be modeled as a mix of Deflection and Parry with Requires Activation and Device.
  • You can take a spell without the Device modifier if you want; this reflects something you've learned to do so well, you no longer need your Device
