Dynasty

The Curtmantle dynasty began during the days of the Angevin crusade as a Chartist family who volunteered to help keep the crusade supplied. They soon developed a reputation for steadfastness and courage under fire, as well as for being able scrounge up nearly anything. Before the end of the crusade, Henry Curtmantle was a awarded Warrant and his family began to reap the rewards.

These days, the Curtmantle star has dimmed significantly. While there were once palaces on half-a-dozen worlds, now there is only their original, modest holding on Malfi, one of the original and terribly out of fashion fortress palaces. Young Richard Curtmantle has inherited it, the Warrant and the flag-ship of the family fleet. Unlike many of his immediate ancestors, and too many of his age-mates, he has also inherited the drive which once made the family great and the determination to bring the Curtmantle name back to prominence.
