- The Scarnettis, a crime family who wish to use the heart of sea to take over the city
- The Mother, the crime boss who hired the party to retrieve the heart of sea. Now has a price on the party's heads, as we have failed to give it to her
- Hermea, an alchemist
- Felix, another alchemist who has ties to the mother
- Jerak, Felix's son
Potted Plot So Far
- The five of you just successfully completed the theft of the Heart of the Sea, a silver necklace bearing as its centerpiece an exquisite blue diamond. You liberated the Heart from Lord Varin Jainspire, a Chelaxian noble who was recently forced to relocate to Varisia. You were hired to steal the Heart by a woman known to you as Mother, who contacted you through intermediaries and offered 1000 gold pieces for the successful return of the Heart to her. You are to meet her in The Friendly Merchant, a tavern located in the city of Magnimar. She will be wearing a white apron.
- Somehow, the Scarnetti crime-family got wind of this plan and hired an actress to dress up as the mother
- Livia, noticing the actress' make-up, attacked the fake mother with her dagger
- A fight ensued with a large number of Night-Scales (the Scarnetti's gang) who were stationed around the room, and the party.
- The fake mother promised the party 1000gp to get her out alive and give her the Heart of Sea
- The real Mother puts a price on the party's heads for failing to get her the Heart of Sea
- The party set out trying to find the real mother to explain what happened
- Stumbling across Felix and his son Jerak in a known hide-out of the Mother, the party agree to help them lie low in Flem's hide-out in exchange for information
- Felix tells us of an alchemist named Hermea who may have the information the party require
- Meeting Hermea, the party agree to allow Hermea to take a sample of Toryc's blood, to use illegitimately amongst gladiator fights, in order to get the required information
- After the bloodletting was complete, Hermea's wife was attacked by hired thugs, sent by the Scarnettis
- Hermea's wife became badly wounded in the ensuing combat, but the party hunted down and slew the thugs
