Herneia, Mistress of the Waves[edit]

History[edit]

Herneia dwells beneath the waves near the Elemental Pole of Water. She controls the tides and the sea creatures. She appears as a being of silvered blue water when she chooses to be corporeal. Herneia's nature is unpredictable and swift to change. She might help a sailor on a sea voyage one day and send a storm to drown him the next.
Herneia and Tardrace
Herneia and Tardrace frequently create storms together. On one of these occassions, Tardrace and Herneia melded so perfectly in creating the storm, that from the foam rose their twin children, Grear and Seyanne. Herneia would never drown her children, but she takes little interest in their lives when they are not on the sea. Grear visits frequently, but it is many years since Herneia has seen her daughter.
