The federal governments of a number of governments continued to fight in the early years of the wars. Submarines able to hide survived the best. Troops in isolated regions believed the war was still going on despite being out of touch for a time.

In time food and other resources began to run out and even enemy combatants declared truces long enough to trade supplies. Eventually they co-operated to acquire resources. These co-operations, and the lack of contact with command authorities for their nations made them take tentative steps to establish what happened to the surface and air wars.

They realized that the governments they served were either gone or in pieces

These forces had a choice. Fight or survive. Destroy each other in support of the ideology of nation states in ruins or join together in the ruins to forage and protect each other.

This was the seed of what became known as the Fed or by its detractors, the Vestigial Fed.

One thing the remaining forces in the early days, was the location of vast secret stores of weapons, equipment, and most importantly, remaining nuclear weapons, biological weapons, and secret weapons

After several centuries they might have found ways to make big nucs into small ones that are better threats to corporate assets. Blackmailing the corps, as they grew, for whatever they need. Gathering surface ships and making deals to provide shipping depending on their subs to defend surface ships.

In time the Corp culture may just have gotten used to dealing with the Fed.

They might have a bunch of secret bases, a main secret lair, but they would be represented in conclaves in the Megacities.

Things like Dejima. A small area of Federal land in a Megacity. A District. A place locals would come to buy things from Fed merchants..

Appeal to the Fed for legal protections.

Alexandra Mira — Yesterday at 10:02 PM Aaaah yes oh yesh that could absolutely work. [10:03 PM] So the Fed would actually also dare to stand up against the corporations?

MIchael Watson — Yesterday at 10:05 PM Yes, within reason. They would threaten to nuc Corp officer's private residences

Alexandra Mira — Yesterday at 10:07 PM Yeah trouble sleeping. Nerve damage causes lots of pain..

But you gave me more ideas to write about so i'll start that soon as well.

A bit about the justice system (yeah justice is a broad term here) And cults and other organizations

MIchael Watson — Yesterday at 10:08 PM I will have some brain power tomarrow. Let me take a wack at the Federal Judges.

Alexandra Mira — Yesterday at 10:08 PM And i'll upload the maps which are somewhere on my pc.

MIchael Watson — Yesterday at 10:08 PM they would be separate from the Megacity justice and police forces
