Quote

Actually, i can answer this. From an engineering standpoint, circular ships are atrocious. They have more front drag applied to them than a more cylindrical ship which, while not being that big of a deal in the vacuum of space, means that in order for it to survive re-entry into an atmosphere (and the leaving of an atmosphere) It's entire hull has to be more reinforced. This extra reinforcing of the hull means that the circular one will end up losing a foot or more in it's radius (which is kind of a big deal for a ship that size) and that results in a lot less usable space. The more cylindrical ship can afford to skip on the armoring of the other ares of the ship, so long as the exposed nose is more reinforced, which means that they have more usable space to work with. Also, given a rectangle/tube and a circle of the same area, you're going to be able to get more rooms out of the rectangle/tube due to the area of possible equal sections.

Appearance

Background

Vyrim was born on a starship. His first toys were his papa's old tools. His first steps were taken in while the ship was in hyperspace. Seeing as there weren't many people on that old ship, his first friends were the few droids that the family could afford. He took to fixing and building things like a ton-ton takes to snow. He liked his life on that ship.

But one day, while the ship was docked on a planet, Vyrim's mother came running on board telling him to run, run as far away as he could and never look back. By the time he stopped running, he was on in a completely different port city.

Some people saw this poor, confused, boy and decided that he'd be an easy target, somebody that wouldn't be missed. Now, some people would call it luck, some would call it the pull of the force, but it just so happened that right before someone pulled him into an alley, Vyrim felt a hand on his shoulder as a woman dragged him towards her ship. She saved his life that day, and so Vyrim has been flying with her ever since.
