Cyrus (trumping LaRubio and seeing the wall of boobies) – Where the hell are you and how can I get there?

Evelyn – We have to get you to stop doing what you’re doing.

Yellow King – You’ll have to be more specific.

Medea – Show us how to defend your realm.

Evelyn – but not on us.

Bobby – This coffee is carbonated, because this is the realm of air.

Evelyn – It’s being petty and small-minded

Clark – Why are you looking at me?

LaRubio – there’s too many people presuming which way I should point my sword lately.

Flora, measuring white silk – I’m caught up in the irony, dear.

Random – The monster’s gone! And LaRubio ate it?!

Evelyn – I can make people fall asleep.

Random – I think you’re confusing, but not boring.

The Adventure[edit]

Rubio is exploring the depths of Dworkin’s cave. At the back of the cave he has found a well. Yellow light beams in from the ceiling of the cave spilling into the depths of the well. A mirrored ladle sits beside it. Rubio ponders this for a bit, but decides against trying anything. He has other plans for the day and begins heading back to Amber.

Meanwhile, Clark is dealing with the fallout of announcing his impending marriage to a lady of Chaos and upcoming birth of their child. The others are in Paris of an alternate Earth.

Rubio receives a trump contact from Cyrus. Cyrus asks Rubio to come through to him and take a nap, but Rubio has his own plans and says to contact him in an hour. Evelyn, Gwenyth, and Calypso join Cyrus and force Rubio to come through despite his protests. Rubio’s entrance causes a disturbance at the café where the group is currently sitting, but Gwenyth convinces the locals around them that everything is normal.

While the rest of the group argues about how exactly to take a nap, Rubio trumps Flora and arranges for a future trump contact in return for ensuring that Clark’s bride will be wearing a proper gown at the wedding. The group then tries to contact Clark and he agrees to come through. The group adjourns to a nice hotel for the next stage of the plan which consists of Gwenyth convincing Evelyn to go to sleep. Once Evelyn is asleep her powers cause everyone else to pass out.

The group suddenly finds itself in an airy void. First, Marble floors and walls appear;then a large mahogany table with chairs. Suddenly, our stalwart adventurers find themselves sitting at the table.

Tantalizing food materilizes before them: Pomegranites, Apples, and Qunice. Each is a vision of perfection. Coffee appears as well, Dark aromatic and inviting.

At the head of the table now sit two people not seen before: A tall man dressed in yellow and a tall, ornately dressed red-haired woman with skin as pale as alabaster.

Evelyn brings out a heretofore unseen manual. The woman at the head of the table, gestures and the pamphlet bursts into flames before Evelyn can begin reading it. She produces another one, which also bursts into flames.

Clark, seeing what is going on convinces the regal red-head to re-assemble the manual. Evelyn begins reading the rules, including “listen to Evelyn”. The man introduces himself as the Yellow King. The woman proclaims herself Madea, the queen of Fire.

The Yellow King says he’s the king of air. There is also a king of fire and a queen of water. Calypso asks how he defends his realm.

The light is focused on Evelyn, and the corners are dark. There’s the sound of scratching and hounds are baying.

The Yellow King says he’s the one who gave Evelyn the crown and sword. He changes to become see-through grandpa. Evelyn asks the Yellow King why the Crimson King is saying that he is hurting him. The Yellow King says that the Crimson King has tried to expand his domain. Clark asks what realm Amber is in, and the Yellow King says it is beyond. Clark speculates we are a mixture of all four elements with order added in.

Clark says that earth and fire are fixed, and air and water are mutable. Medea grows as her hair and clothes turn into fire. She says all things are fluid. She says the Earth King does not change well with the times.

The King, Queen and Rubio leave and a few minutes later the King and Queen return alone. Evelyn asks the King if he’s in charge of the Dreamlands, and he says yes. He’s aware she’s visited a lot. Tir is also an extension of his realm.

Evelyn asks if she can visit other realms, and the Queen sends her to the realm of fire for a split second. It is very hot.

Calypso asks what would happen if one of them died, as the Queen of Water is gone. The Yellow King says that power is open now. Evelyn tells Calypso hat Llewella dreamed of being crowned. The Fire Queen (Medea) advises Calypso to go for it.

There is some debate about the Elders vs. the Elemental Rulers with Evelyn saying that the playing field should be leveled. Her face goes blank, and her forehead splits open. Bleys and Fiona step out. Fiona commands Evelyn to make it rain. She has a huge pistol and shoots the King. The Fire Queen makes the gun melt. Clark summons the sword he got from Tir. Calypso summons a water sword. The table and walls are gone. Cyrus imagines himself with a sword and armor. Evelyn imagines her cousins are insubstantial. Gwenyth imagines that Evelyn, Fiona, and Bleys are trapped in metal cylinders, terrified. The steel cylinders implode because of the fire, electroplating on to them, and they trump out. Calypso turns misty, and the Fire Queen makes rainbows coming off of her. The Yellow King heals, and allows everyone to turn solid. Gwenyth releases Evelyn. Evelyn says they were going to come through using one of us, and she was trying to make them as ineffective as possible. The Fire Queen gives Clark, Calypso and Gwenyth fire opals. Clark says that he understands that the red-heads would do anything to take over Amber. The Yellow King allows everyone to wake up. We are all back in Paris.

LaRubio trumps Cyrus and yanks him through. Fiona says she is putting him into protective custody. She will take him to the lighthouse for his own good.

Calypso trumps Llewella, who is at weapons practice. She says she has now met Fire, Earth and Air. Calypso wants to form an alliance. Llewella says that’s ill-advised. She says Calypso is bringing order to the dwellers of the lands under the sea. Llewella suggest that she and her cousins get rid of the elemental rulers. Llewella says we are gods and control the elements; the elements don’t control us.

Clark calls Flora, who is measuring white silk. Clark advises her not to talk to Bleys or Fiona for favors any time in the near future. Clark breaks connection.

Caine trumps Gwenyth. She has done an excellent job in pissing off Bleys and Fiona. He wants her to get Julian out of Kashfa and show him where this air place is. He will then have Kashfa and will really piss Bleys off when he kills the Yellow King. In exchange, he will stay out of her shadow. She says she doesn’t believe him and shushes him when he tries to interrupt. Caine advises her not to use trumps, and says that the next time she uses the Pattern, she’ll find herself in Kashfa.

Evelyn goes to see Random. She tells him of the trip to see the King of Air, helping Llewella kill the Queen of Water, and Bleys wanting to kill off the King of Earth. She says that Dworkin’s monster’s gone, and that they went to Paris with Dworkin.

Evelyn talks about the Pattern being poisoned, and says that she can make people fall asleep. She tells him about the battle in the King of Air’s realm. She’s confused as to who to trust. She manages to confuse Random in the process.

Cyrus is in a very comfortable room. LaRubio talks with Flora.
