Herr Silverback, Ape King of the Third Reich
In the latter half of the European conflict of World War II, Dr. Reinhardt Metzger was at the forefront of Hitler’s secret medical research. Constantly experimenting on both captured soldiers and himself, Metzger was able to unlock the hidden potential of his own mind, granting the ability to subdue others with his thoughts.
Newly empowered, he took a more proactive stance in the war, actively combating America’s masked men of the day with the awesome power of his brilliant mind. However, he underestimated his foes, and he was eventually felled in battle by an early American superhuman, The Liberty Eagle.
However, Metzger’s legacy of evil did not end with his death. His corpse was found, a trace of life remaining in his mutated brain. His research team, well versed in the arcane and unscrupulous surgeries he had been performing, removed the organ, placing it in the healthy body of another captured soldier. Emboldened once more, Metzger continued his fight against the Allied forces. After each defeat, his brain was recovered, and a new body found, until the Allies won a decisive victory, forcing him to go into hiding.
Now, without a Fuhrer and without a country, Metzger took to the underground, continuing his experimentation on man and animal alike, keeping himself alive by transferring his awesome mind into captured subjects. Realizing that the power of the mind was not enough, he looked to the natural strength of man’s closest relative: the gorilla. Finding a near-perfect specimen on a secret expedition into the Congo, Metzger’s dreams of Nazi domination moved one step further. Using new, modern scientific techniques, he increased the beast’s natural strength and agility until he had the perfect form to house his incredible intellect. After transferring his brain one final time, he ceased to be Reinhardt Metzger, and renamed himself Silverback, Ape King of the Third Reich!
Now, with his legion of genetically modified Chimpanzerfaust Troopers, he wages an ongoing war on American soil against all who would oppose his dominion.
Description:
Herr Silverback, like his namesake, is a large silverback mountain gorilla. He generally stands on two legs, much like a normal human. He typically wears a red cape and a monocle.
Sergeant Bingo
Silverback's right hand ape, and the leader of the Chimpanzerfaust forces, is unlike his master, in that his intelligence comes purely from experimentation, rather than a brain transplant. With his mind functioning at the capacity of an above-average human, and given the capacity for speech and rational thought, Bingo was weaned on a strict regimen of war films and tactical instruction. As a side effect, his mannerisms have come to reflect an exaggerated version of the typical gruff, American marine from the movies, much to Silverback's dismay. Still, he is feircely loyal, and leads his ape troops with cunning and precision.
The Chimpanzerfaust
Silverback's army consists solely of genetically modified chimpanzees. Each is stronger, faster and smarter than their counterparts in the natural world. They are dressed in uniforms reminiscent of the German infantry. While not as physically imposing as their master, they make a formidable foe in large groups.
Chimpanzerfaust soldiers that take exceptionally well to Silverback's genetic tampering are designated as his Elite. These apes are equipped with jetpacks, high-caliber assault rifles, and are dressed in the more formal manner of the German SS troops.
Silverback has no idea how ridiculous his army actually looks.
