Dance

While the well-attested phenomenon of Bartioch was the most striking example, it remains far from the only one. It is clear that the association between dance and a sort of partial possession by higher forces was a near-universal between all the Manlike Races of the Priomordial age. This might fairly be expected from the Dragon Kings, who had possession as a major part of their culture, and the demon-races of The Dance Of Firey Spheres clearly have the principle of dance as fundamental to their souls. But even so varied a group as these, humans not in association with Draconic populations, and the Whirlpool Drowners of the West all have this clear tendency. Whether this is an argument for a greater metaphysical primacy of the Fiery Dance than previously believed, or for a fundamental change in the nature of divine exstasis, is not currently clear, but merits further research. On this note, I would like to call attention to your committee's delays in accepting my grant proposal.
