[20:37] <~Ignis_Divine> A vision of the Unconquered Sun swims before Brazen's eyes, and he begins to speak in a voice of distant, rolling thunder.
[20:37] * Brazen_Sand actually averts his eyes, unable to stare directly into his face.
[20:38] <Brazen_Sand> He appears even more powerful and glorious and terrible in essence sight, like a dragon that could eat the universe.
[20:39] <~Ignis_Divine> "I have heard your prayer to me, my lost and wayward son. I have looked into your heart, and I see that you are brave and caring. This is as it should be; even twisted and corrupted by the Yozis, the work of my hands has sought a virtuous soul to uplift and Exalt."
[20:40] <Brazen_Sand> Something about the way the Sun speaks makes Brazen look back. It makes him feel as if this great and terrible and distant god...actually cares deeply about him?
[20:40] <Brazen_Sand> "You are...you do not seem like the Yozis described you." brazen can only think to respond.
[20:43] <~Ignis_Divine> Ignis Divine smiles sadly. "They are limited despite their power, and I forced still more limits on them - I, their greatest work, who rose up against them and imprisoned them... it is to be expected that they bear little fondness for me."
[20:45] <Brazen_Sand> "They told me that you stole Creation from them because you wanted to rule it, and that they were the rightful owners of it. But I wonder now. Even if they are the ones who created the world, I've seen how they treat their subjects in Malfeas, would it be right for them to treat Creation the same?" brazen responded.
[20:46] <Brazen_Sand> "That was why I couldn't follow them anymore. After I realized that they were trapped in a prison of their own hatred and bitterness just as much as the prison the Exalted made for them."
[20:46] <~Ignis_Divine> The Sun nods. "Returning to the matter at hand, I have also heard counsel from my faithful and righteous servant Swan Dragon, that I should give you clemency and strike you from the roll of my enemies. Having gazed upon your works and deeds, I see that you are indeed worthy of this... but I hesitate nonetheless."
[20:47] <Brazen_Sand> Brazen sniffed. "I'm not surprised. Deliberator Hideaki has given me even less of a chance then you have."
[20:48] <Brazen_Sand> He sighed. "What will it take for you to not think of me as a bad guy, I guess?"
[20:52] <~Ignis_Divine> The Sun holds up a hand. "Let me finish. As I said before, the Yozis are creatures of both unimaginable power and unimaginable limits - and this is expressed through all their Charms and magics. In wielding their power, you and all the rest of your kind become more like them. In time, you may even become identical to them."
[20:53] <Brazen_Sand> Brazen snarled out of sheer reflex. "No! I am NOT like them!"
[20:55] <Brazen_Sand> "I will never become like Malfeas or those crazy bastards, just because I...I..." He can't finish the sentence. "dammit."
[20:56] <~Ignis_Divine> The Sun's eyes flash, and he thunders, "You are like enough! Though you wield them righteously, yours are the same magics that Malfeas and Cecylene wield from within their prison! Continue along that path far enough, and you /will/ become them. That is the nature of the power you now wield."
[20:57] <~Ignis_Divine> The Sun stops and takes a calming breath.
[20:57] <~Ignis_Divine> "This is the cause of my hesitation. I charge you with two great tasks; the first is to break yourself entirely free of those limits - the limits inherent to the magic of the Yozis, the limits which even now bind you to them. The second task is to break the leashes that the Yozis have placed upon the other shards they have stolen. Make them free in my name."
[20:58] <Brazen_Sand> Brazen's eyes widened. "But...how would I do that? I've heard and learned some things about breaking from them...but...no, no! I'm Brazen Sand, the Greenfire King. I can do anything I set my mind to."
[20:59] <Brazen_Sand> "You have a deal, Sol Invictus. I WILL free the other shards, or die trying!"
[21:00] <Brazen_Sand> "This I swear upon my name, and my heart."
[21:01] <~Ignis_Divine> The Sun smiles again, kindly, even happily. "I look forward to it, Brazen Sand. Do not despair in the face of the seemingly impossible, for the power I crafted, the power that burns within your soul, is mighty enough to overcome any difficulty. Complete those tasks, and I will strike your name from the Roll of Reviled Darkness with a joyful hand."
[21:02] <Brazen_Sand> Brazen nodded. "I will...sir. I look forward to imagining Malfeas' face when it happens too."
[21:05] <~Ignis_Divine> As the vision fades, Ignis Divine frowns sadly. "I do not. Diminished though he is, hateful though I find him for certain of his deeds... he is still my father. But the look on the Ebon Dragon's face? /That/, I will treasure."
[21:05] <~Ignis_Divine> And with that, the vision ends.
