History[edit]

Was it truly so long ago? In the briefly-flaring stars that are the mon-keigh, it has been a span of countless ifetimes since I first reached for the stars, unable to contain the yearning within myself to explore their depths and unlock their secrets. I dreamt the most glorious dreams. Dreams of hidden Maiden Worlds awaiting our presence. Of Craftworlds blown to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, awaiting the proper hand to guide them back to the Webway, and back to their people. But even in such dreams of glory and shining beauty, there existed the kernels of fear. For to reach out to the darkest stars, and set foot upon lost worlds innumerable would be to walk the Path of the Outcast. To forsake comraderie and allies in hopes of bringing glorious enlightenment into the darkness. After all, I was but an initiate in the Path of the Artisan, not even a Mariner. What right did I have to lay claim to the stars beyond Euranathwe?

Though it took a force of will I must admit to being unsure I possessed, I came to my own realization. I had no right to the stars, but their allure called to me in my mind's eye, and refused to be denied. And it was with a heart heavy with fear, but overflowing in anticipation that I took my first fumbling, faltering steps upon the Path of the Outcast. I was not alone in such matters, of course. I was permitted to join the crew of the Silent Requiem, a fine corsair vessel that had refueled at Euranathwe before resuming its exploration of the stars. Despite my inexperience in their ways, I earned my place among the corsairs, seeking to master their ways as I once had my former Path.

My finest test among the crew of the Silent Requiem was when we were faced with an outrunner force of a foul and perfidious Hive Fleet. Unaware of their presence within the system we investigated. Unfamiliar with the Tyranid menace at that time, we did not understand the threat we faced until the murderous creatures had boarded our ship. Many of my brethren were cut down by the beasts, including our celebrated captain. Fortunately, i was in a position to organize a rearguard stand that stopped the creatures' advance, and with the opersistence and skill that only our proud race possesses we were able to eliminate them from the ship. It was in recognition of this feat, as well as the unfortunate deaths of many of my fellow crew that allowed my advance to the helm.

My adventures, though I hesitate to call them such, as it contains a childish pride that I have not felt in millennia, have allowed me to understand the expanses of the galaxy, and the threats we are to face if the Craftworlds are to prosper. In the "Koronous Expanse", I came across a foul and twisted world of our fallen cousins, the so-called Dark Eldar. Though the slavering beasts are unworthy of the name, I fell upon them as though as aspect of Bloody-Handed Khaine himself. Though my own losses were grievous, the monsters needed to be eliminated for our benefit. If it has earned me the enmity of their foul race, then I shall take pride in that fact. Sadly, I have also encountered the so-called Imperium of Man. The primitive superstitious fools have not taken well to my presence on many occasions. One of their 'Inquisitors' came upon an Exodite settlement and attempted to 'cleanse' it that they could gain its resources. My ship was in the area and assisted my distant brethren, but by slaying the Inquisitor, I fear I have made a persistent, violent enemy. Nearly as vexing have been my dealing with the "Rogue Traders". While less close-minded than many of their kind, they turn evn diplomacy to warfare, and seem to hold personal offense when I am able to obtain resources that they cannot. A curious rac, these mon-keigh...

I have heard that the mon-keigh now plan to expand into the section of space they call the Jericho Reach. I have heard of this area. We believe it to contain an unusually large number of Maiden Worlds. These worlds must be protected at all costs, and I shall mobilize my entire fleet to do so if I must.
