Exterminator Robots

The Exterminators are the first large scale production of Artificial Intelligence on the planet Earth. The Supreme Light help us all. They are a collection of robotic war machines that exist solely to destroy any Metamen that they can lay their hands on.

Exterminators were first proposed by billionaire industrialist, Kenneth Kane, towards the end of the Clinton Administration. Flatly rejected, Kenneth Kane sold the designs for them to several Anti-Metamen hate groups. The first appearance of the Exterminators resulted in massive casualties to both Metamen and the humans surrounding them.

Kenneth Kane found a much more receptive audience to the use of Exterminators after the attempted coup of the Psychotic Seven. While the Bush Administration publicly advocated the Third Steel Commando as their official response to rising Metaman violence, they privately began mass production of the Exterminators.

The effectiveness of the Exterminator Project has been mixed to say the least. The extremely buggy A.I. has resulted in several small scale rebellions by the murderous androids. Worse, the Exterminators have found their way into the hands of terrorists like the Gene Nation and the International Crime League (in no small part thanks to Death Mask III's 'open' policy to arms trading). Unfortunately, they've also proven one of the few weapons that can actually stand up to rebellious Metamen.

The response to the Exterminators has also been extreme. Many previously peaceful Metamen have been radicalized by the appearance of the monstrous robots. Citizens Watch Groups anxious for an end to super human crime have advocated the machines being placed in every city in America. Billionaire Alexander Timmons has spent a good deal of his fortune lobbying for the project to be shut down. The Tomorrow Society's response is simpler; all Exterminators and their production facilities are to be destroyed whenever possible.

Despite their heavy controversy, the Exterminators are only likely to grow in number. Project: Icarus is a rabid supporter of their use and most of their secret facilities are guarded by them. Worse, technology is very difficult to get rid of once in use. P.H.A.N.T.O.M hopes that the machines' widespread proliferation will reduce the surplus population of Metamen in the world and allow any takeover to be easier. Some have even speculated that all Exterminators have secret programs within them that will allow Death Mask III to hijack their systems. This is likely just paranoia. Likely.

Despite being sentient, Exterminators have little personality. They make the effort to appear coldly logical and utterly emotionless. Those who have had extensive encounters with the Exterminators will attest that, despite this, the androids seem to hold all forms of humanity in disdain. Some might even argue that the machines have developed the capacity to hate both their human masters as well as Metamen.

Exterminators come in two varieties. The Exterminators-501 series are the most famous of Exterminator models. Standing twenty feet tall or higher, the Exterminators-501 are capable of flight and possess an incredible intimidation factor. The smaller Exterminator-101 series are man-sized robotic shocktroopers that resemble their larger counterparts. All Exterminators speak with a cold electronic voice and possess the ability to detect Metamen.
