Background[edit]

Greta is a stranger in town, and to many, an unwelcome one. Born in the small village of Larbrecht's Reach, daughter of a sail-maker and his wife, Greta was a pretty, if unexceptional young woman whose expectations were to wed modestly - although she oft dreamed of better - and have children.

That changed when she entered her teenage years, and began to feel the faint trickles of the Wind's of Magic that allowed defines the life of a hedge wizard. Panicked, and knowing discovery, especially during the growing threat of Chaos and the religious fervour whipped up by the Grand Theologinist, would mean the stake, she fled, making her way south, working where she could and moving on before anyone took much notice of the pretty, eccentric young woman.

Her path led her toward Altdorf, and eventually she found herself apprenticed to a minor, but legitimate member of the faculty of the Colleges of Magic. How the young woman convinced him to do this - or paid for her tuition - was a topic of frequent speculation amount her better heeled classmates, and her simple, wholesome Nordland appearance and timid demeanor may have allowed her to pay her tuition in...trade.

At the moment, she is living in the room shared between her and her Master, although her time in the relative comforts of the inn are drawing to a close, as her mentor - who had a considerably larger purse - caught a Beastman's spear in the chest two nights ago.
