Nature:

  • Demeanor: Logical and Pragmatic. Zero One has been vastly changed from the salvage tribesman that he once was. The implant and neuro surgeries have turned him into more machinery than human.
  • Why are you aboard a Rogue Trader?: The damaged Dark Eldar vessel didn't survive long after the escape. Zero One's escape pod was found by the Rogue Trader's vessel and having few other options he joined the crew. He quickly became the senior Explorator aboard after the previous tried to have him killed. He failed. Zero One took his position and his skull for a replacement familiar.
  • Why does the Koronus Expanse call to you?: Zero One searches for way to improve himself. The fabled treasures to be found in Koronus include rumors of STC relics and ancient cyernetics
  • What Will You Sacrifice?: Everything but his mind. Zero One is no longer the man that he once was, few memories and even less untainted flesh remain. But the brilliance and quick mind that the Adeptus Mechanicus recognized is the only part of him that matters, everything else is just unimportant.
  • What is your ambition?: Knowledge, and self improvement. Zero One seeks to learn all that he can learn and become what he considers better in the process.
  • What are your hatreds?: Ignorance and the fools that embrace it as wisdom.

Background

  • Zero One came from a horrid Deathworld named Bracket 12, a foul dumping ground for the Adeptus Mechanicus. Irradiated materials, waste products, and heretical experiments best left unfound. The inhabitants of Bracket 12 scavenged what they could find and sold back to the Adeptus Mechanicus in return for food and medicines. Zero One was a member of a salvage tribe, chasers of the fiery trails of Adeptus Mechanicus orbital garbage drops. The drops were highly sought after and tribes killed each other for was might be found. Zero One never learned what was in the canister he found. He later years he supposed that it might have been an heretical experiment into the Necron repair systems. His body was racked with pain as the glowing slag goo reformed his body. The Adeptus Mechanicus servitors arrived shortly afterwards snatching up Zero One, the lost canister, and decimating his salvage tribe for security. On its way back home the Adeptus Mechanicus barge suffered a failure of its Gellar field, the result of an unauthorized experiment during the warp voyage. It was pitched from the warp, crippled and adrift. Before repairs could be completed it was detected by Dark Eldar pirates. Harrowing days followed as Zero One played cat and mouse through the halls of the barge. He managed to escape with a group of Magos, capturing one of the Dark Eldar frigates to make their escape. Horribly injured during the escape he was refitted by the Adeptus Mechanicus and inducted into the cult of the Machine God.
