Hecate is a woman whom is viewed with sadness and pity by many superheroes of the Silver Age. They remember her as a sweet girl and a champion of justice. Those of the Iron Age and Modern Era know her as a heinous opponent and a bezerker as dangerous as any on the planet. Hecate is one of the most dangerous and ruthless warriors that currently exists on Earth and is always prepared to deal her unique brand of justice.

Hecate was born on the island of Olympiana as the child of a priestess and the god Zeus (or so she believed). Adopted by Athena, she was possessed of strength and skill nearly equal to the goddess. Taught in the ways of battle by Athena, she was raised with the goddess' strong ethics to promote peace with as little violence as needed.

Hecate chose to fight at Athena's side when she returned to the world of mortals. While not initially taken seriously, many enemies swiftly learned that she was not to be taken lightly. In some ways, she was even more dangerous than Athena. Hecate later became one of the founding members of the New Fighters for Freedom. These were the best years of Hecate's life as she truly came into her as a super heroine. She had romances with a number of her team mates and even lead the organization for a brief period.

The beginning of the end for Hecate was when she finally did choose to get married. Taking a husband from the 'mortal' population than one of her fellow superheroes, she eventually gave birth to a baby girl that she named Persephone. Her husband Steve was a Freeport scientist and understood the risks of marrying a super hero. Blood Wing tortured her husband to death over the course of three days before she came back from a mission in Atlantis. Hecate had never taken any special efforts to hide her identity and it had cost her dearly. Her child Persephone disappeared and she could find no trace of her.

Hecate joined the Psychotic Seven in seeking revenge against Blood Wing. She did not choose to join the group in the end but when confronted by Athena, she got into a brutal brawl with her mentor. Afterwards, she recieved a visitor from a most unexpected source: The god Ares. Ares revealed to her that her entire mentorship had been a lie. Instead of being the daughter of Zeus, she was his daughter and it was time to embrace her heritage. Hecate vowed to learn the ways of dark sorcery and revenge herself on a world that had forgotten the ways of the warrior. She fought by the Psychotic Seven's side during the coup and eventually replaced the deceased Ramses II.

Oddly, Hecate is the most beloved of the Psychotic Seven's members. Aquarius and Red Jaguar treat her like a kid sister while Manhattan Project occasionally alludes to the possibility of stronger feelings. Even Jack and Jane Union are reasonably friendly to her. Only Moss Pit is indifferent. This is ironic since Hecate is so filled with hate that she could never consider her team mates as anything more than temporary allies.

Hecate is an intense woman whom does everything whole heatedly. Her anger and hatred are fuel to avoid thinking about how she has nothing to look forward to but death. Hecate's life is vacant and empty so she fills it with bloodshed. Unlike some of her team mates, Hecate still believes herself to be a hero and targets only the 'guilty.' These are usually murderers and rapists. She disposes of them brutally in order to help work out her anger. Only Manhattan Projects suspects how close to the edge she really is.

The Olympian is a a beautiful redhead whom keeps her hair up in a topknot. She wears metal armor forged by Hephaestus but blessed by Ares. Hecate prefers to use her fists to fight and only pulls out her weapons when riled. She prefer a longsword and battle mace as her chosen tools of death. Made on Olympia, they are actually high tech versions of melee weapons.
